Bottom line, the young man struck Zimmerman with enough force to leave bruising etc. There were witnesses who corroborated Zimmerman's story. The law of Florida states that all Zimmerman had to prove was that he was in reasonable fear for his life. His lawyers proved that to the satisfaction of the jurors who were charged with the decision.
