Mayo or Miracle Whip?

When you make a sandwich, or salad, or whatever, which do you prefer to use?

Mayo, or Miracle Whip?

I've been a Best Food's (Hellman's) person, ever since I was little. Now, I'm begining to like Miracle Whip.

So, what's your preference?

I use Hellman's also, but I learned here that the next time I make cole slaw I'm going to try to remember to use Miracle Whip. Could be that's why my dressing is never really what I was trying for.

There is something about the tanginess of MW that makes cole slaw so darn good. Guess you might get some sort of tanginess if you use lemon juice with mayo.....but just not the same as MW. I have both in my refrig, but find I replace the MW more often.

And my goodness, love my tomato sandwiches in the summer with MW.....no other way will do it as far as I'm concerned.

FF Mayo, Kraft Miracle Whip no Hellman's.

Just like my Pnt Btr has to be Jif. (Again, it's in a food group all it's own!, like chocolate). LOL

I don't like either. Ewww, lol. I prefer my sandwiches dry, with just the meat or whatever inside.

Definitely Best Foods Mayonaise only. I have never liked Miracle Whip.

For sandwiches and such Miracle Whip.

When I make potato salad, which my husband and son LOVE, I do a half & half. 100% Miracle Whip too tangy. 100% Mayo no tangy at all. So over the years I've done 50/50 for this particular use.

But usually for ham sandwich I use mustard, for hamburgers combo mustard/ketchup . . .

Both. I grew up with Miracle Whip. In my 40s I started to get a liking for mayonnaise.

Definitely Miracle Whip for everything! Except when I make cole slaw, I use a combination of Miracle Whip and Kraft Light Mayo.

It seems that in parts of the South, it's a contest between Miracle Whip and Duke's Mayonnaise!

It depends on the use. Miracle Whip has a mixed tart/tangy/sweet taste which is different from the milder, creamier mayo. Sometimes I think it depends on my mood, too.

I don't care for MW or Mayo. I don't really like the taste, and there is too much fat in it. I prefer dijon mustard. I hate fat free mayo too.

I grew up with Miracle Whip and use nothing but. My taste buds do not like mayo - too flat-tasting for me.

Put me in the 'neither' column also. I won't even use it in a recipe where it disappears, because I'll know it's in there and it would gross me out to no end. But then, I'm more food-neurotic than most. The look, the smell, and the taste of those things makes me physically ill.

Neither but if I had to eat it, I would choose Mayo. I am not a fan of High Fructose Corn Syrup in any way shape or form. Apparently, these are the ingredients in Miracle Whip.

INGREDIENTS: Water, Soybean Oil, Vinegar, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Modified Cornstarch, Sugar, Eggs, Salt, Natural Flavor, Mustard Flour, Potassium Sorbate as a Preservative, Paprika, Spice, Dried Garlic.
