Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Frequently remind yourself of that which is important in your life.
Lord, help me to treasure my family and friends, recognize how
valuable they are and tell them often how happy that I am because
they are in my life.

Scripture for the day:

"Jesus looked at them and said, 'For mortals it is impossible, but for
God all things are possible.'" ~Matthew 19:26

Meditation for the day:

We can cling to the belief that all things are possible with God. If
this belief is truly accepted it is the ladder upon which a human soul
can climb from the lowest pit of despair to the most sublime heights
of peace of mind. It is possible for God to change our way of living.
When we see the change in another person through the grace of God, we
cannot doubt that all things are possible in the lives of people
through the strength that comes from faith in God who rules us all.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may live expectantly. I pray that I may believe deeply
that all things are possible with God.

Peace of the Lord be with you all! Hope your day was pleasant. This
afternoon Lori picked me up and we canned tomatoes at her place- mostly
salsa and 7 quarts of spaghetti sauce. Linus came there after work, and
brought the chicken I had thawed for supper, and he grilled it there. We
also had some delicious potato soup that she made from scatch. Such a good
cook she is! Both my daughters are such good cooks! The tomatoes Linus got
at the Farmer's Market - nice big ones. Ours are all done already. I
called Sister LaDonna this afternoon and she seemed fine - good doctor's
report, and that she may go home tomorrow - but what she didn't know was
that he took away her pain meds, and later on she was in bad pain again -
My sister, Deil, told me. So now we don't know about her leaving the
hospital just yet. They must have their reasons, but now she's needing
those pain pills again. But she is covered with prayer, and we all know
that God is with her, and is answering our prayers for her, - and that this
takes time to heal. When I talked to her, she did get some success in
getting higher up in bed sitting for a meal.

He Is Really Your Father, Even on Your Bad Days!

Rom 8:12-17 / Lk 13:10-17

At times life can lie heavily upon us, not only the troubles that make their
way into every life, but also our own sins and failures. More than once St.
Paul expressed his own frustrations with himself. On the one hand, he knew
Jesus so well and knew what following him means, and on the other hand he
stumbled on that path and at least temporarily wandered in other directions.
It distressed him mightily, for the more sensitive and principled a person
is, the more those falls hurt.

The often oppressive reality of our own limits and failings can at times
cause us to wonder how God could really like us or be willing to give us
another chance, much less take us to his own heart. That’s why St. Paul is
trying to reassure us in today’s Epistle to the Romans. The Lord didn’t give
us “a spirit of slavery to send (us) back into fear, but a spirit of
adoption through which we cry out, ‘Father!’ The Spirit himself gives
witness with our spirit that we are children of God.”

Trust that Spirit who dwells within you, and especially on those days when
your own spirit is weary, remember to cry out with all your heart, “Father!”

I have always had a special love for words. Words have such power in
them. The right words can uplift, inspire, heal, and create endless
joy and love in our lives. The wrong words can depress, discourage,
hurt, and bring us endless misery and pain. It is so very important
then to try and choose the right words in our lives. By choosing the
right words I don't just mean saying the right words or writing the
right words either. I also mean thinking the right words. It is
amazing the garbage that so many of us allow ourselves to think each
and everyday of our lives.

In order to live a truly blessed life we must haul away the garbage
and start to plant words that will grow into a garden of joy and light
in our minds. Start today then to make the words in your life work for
you and not against you. Do away with "can't" and "no". Try "can" and
"yes" instead. Say, " I can be happy, I can choose joy, and I can
share love." Say, "Yes" to life, to learning, and to growth. Begin to
use words like: Wonderful, Beautiful, and Delightful when you speak to
others. Find a word of praise
for everyone you know and then share it with them. Look the people you
love straight in the eye and tell them, "I love you." Seek our every
fantastic, fabulous, and glorious word that you can and start to use
them in your life.

Words are such simple things and yet they have the power to change our
lives forever if we use them right. Make the choice everyday of your
life to use all of the good, positive, and loving words you can every
second that you can. If you do this you will find that your life will
become a paradise of love and joy, that other people will become your
brothers and sisters in happiness, and that God's goodness will shine
through every word you use....

That we might have a mansion.

That we might have perfect liberty.
