Even oatmeal makes me jittery.

Who knew this subject would make anyone crabby? LOL!

I read this was a way to gain energy and lose weight.

I tried it for the first time this morning...and I'm still not hungry!

It also tasted delicious. I mixed Trader Joe's organic coffee with a TBL. of coconut oil and 1 TBL. of Kerrygold butter - foamed it up in the Vitamix.

It was YUMMY!

It's an old early-2014 Fad...chugging down pure oil. Seriously? It's soooo not healthy. Poor veins, heart, liver are working overtime to fix all the damage this creates....leaching out all the important minerals in ones system & bones to neutralize all this acid. Plus zero nutrition. like I said before....Healthy Endothelium is where it's at!!

Here's the advice from WebMD:

Coconut oil, according to recent reports, is the latest food cure-all. Claims abound that coconut oil is a health food that can cure everything from poor immune function, thyroid disease, and heart disease, to obesity, cancer, and HIV.

So should you stock up on coconut oil? Not so fast.

The evidence that coconut oil is super-healthful is not convincing and these claims appear to be more testimonials than clinical evidence.

There is very limited evidence on disease outcomes, says Dariush Mozaffarian, MD, DrPH, of Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Public Health. "All that has been studied well is the impact of coconut oil on cholesterol levels and the findings are intriguing but we still don't know if it is harmful or beneficial," Mozaffarian says.

Neither the American Heart Association (AHA) nor the U.S. government's 2010 Dietary Guidelines suggest that coconut oil is any better or preferable over other saturated fats. Coconut oil, like all saturated fats, should be limited to 7%-10% of calories because it can increase risk for heart disease, according to the AHA and 2010 Dietary Guidelines.

http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/coconut-oil-and-health

Seriously? It's soooo not healthy. Poor veins, heart, liver are working overtime to fix all the damage this creates....leaching out all the important minerals in ones system & bones to neutralize all this acid. Plus zero nutrition. like I said before....Healthy Endothelium is where it's at!!

Different strokes for different folks!

I'd take a taste, but only a taste

I'm trying to get a jump on the New Year, too. In fact, that's my chore of the morning, plan healthy meals for the rest of the week and get a grocery list going.

Salmon is good. I'm trying to come up with healthy appetizers for New Year's, I have one in mind: cherry tomatoes, hallowed out and stuffed with feta and I can't remember what else. DH put them together for us last year.
