Texans ought to band together to get that changed!

I think they have to do background checks here on almost anyone who works with children. It used to be pretty common knowledge that pedophiles liked to get jobs as Santas.

Pedophiles always go where the kids are.

He was convicted in Ohio, not Texas, in 1998. The reason he wasn't breaking the law had to do with the fact that he was not on probation in Texas with the stipulation to stay away from children. Therefore, he did not break any Texas law.

He served his time in Ohio and moved to Texas a few years ago.

The issue is that McDonald's did not do a background check.

As repulsive as it is to think of this former convicted ped*phile playing Santa, the story reported here is not quite accurate.

Hi Naughty: It was on the news last night. The posts here are not an accurate accounting of this story.

He was sentenced to 12 years in Ohio; I'm not sure if he served all 12 but only moved to Texas a few years ago.

The story reported via the link provided above says basically what you've said except for trying to make this all about McD not doing a background check. This is still about TX apparently not enforcing or recognizing the s3x offender registration and laws that are on the book in most states.

So, does TX permanently put individuals convicted of s3x crimes on permanent probation or parole? If not, then they don't restrict pedos from contact with children.

Does Texas have registration requirements for s3x offenders that live in the state? Also, is it accurate that once a convicted ped*phile is off probation there are no restrictions about being around minors?
