Make more room for love in your life. Lord, may I love myself and what
I do, may I love others, and how they better my life, and above all, may
I love You more each day.

Scripture for the day:

"Since the day we heard it, we have not ceased praying for you and
asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all
spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may lead lives worthy
of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good
work and as you grow in the knowledge of God." ~Colossians 1:9-10

Meditation for the day:

We can bow to God's will in anticipation of the thing happening which
will, in the long run, be the best for all concerned. It may not
always seem the best thing at the present time, but we cannot see as
far ahead as God can. We do not know how God's plans are laid, we only
need to believe that if we trust God and accept whatever happens,
things will work out for the best in the end.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may not ask to see the distant scene. I pray that one
step may be enough for me.

Greetings my friends! Hope you all had a great weekend! Our weather here is
warming up again and we so appreciate it!! He had to work today - first
Sunday in a long time - and then we had our Church Meeting tonight - about
the new revised Mass - always a nice time there with our nice group of
couples. Our friends picked us up, which was nice visiting with them. Next
sunday is the last session. Today my blessings were visiting with three of
my sisters over the phone! Found out Sr. LaDonna is fine and her cell just
wasn't working when I tried to call her. She called me this afternoon.
She's all moved in and awaiting her trip to Medjudgorje which she leaves on
Thursday morning for 10 days. Please pray for her safe journey and that
she'll enjoy it there, not getting too worn out etc. lots of walking etc.
Does anyone not know about Medjudgorje? It's where Our Lady appeared to
some teenagers some 20 years ago, and that place is sacred - and Miracles
take place there. It's in Yuglslavia. Long trip for her! She saved all
her birthday and Christmas money for years so she could go and now's her
chance.

Homily of the Day

October 2, 2011

God Always Forgives, But Time Can Run Out
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.

Is 5:1-7 / Phil 4:6-9 / Mt 21:33-43

Many centuries ago in the days of the desert hermits, a soldier approached a
wise old monk with a question: “Father, do you think God really forgives
sinners?”

The monk thought for quite a while and then responded with a question: “Tell
me,” he said, “if your cloak were torn, would you throw it away?”

“Of course not,” said the soldier. “I’d mend it and wear it again.”

“Yes,” smiled the old monk. “And if YOU care for your CLOAK that well, will
not GOD be even more careful with his own CHILDREN?”

Of course he will! Over and over God tries to mend us and put us back
together and help us get our lives right. That’s what all those messengers
are about in Sunday’s Gospel: God, calling out to us in so many different
ways, urging us to stop wandering about, urging us instead to look at the
gifts he’s lent us and to start using them— all of them — while there’s
still time.

Now there’s a strange thing about our gifts: because they’ve always been
there, we tend to take them for granted and in fact may not even notice
them. And because they’ve always been there, we tend to think of them as our
own and not just a loan — which leads in turn to the ultimate illusion:
thinking we’ve got unlimited time and can afford to fool around and squander
our gifts. How often our little inner voice whispers, “I’ve got lots more
where that came from. Lots more life and all the rest too.”

When we say that out loud, we can hear how foolish and arrogant it is, this
illusion of unlimited time. But that IS what’s being said in the fog inside
our heads a lot of the time. And that’s what Jesus is trying to help us face
up to before it’s too late.

This is what the parable is about: God never gives up on us. Never. He keeps
sending us messengers because his love never runs out. But eventually our
time runs out. Then we ARE whatever our use of our gifts has made us. We are
whatever a lifetime’s worth of daily choices has added up to. And that is
what we carry home to our Father. That and nothing else — just our selves.

Jesus is begging us as a brother not to waste another minute worrying about
God and whether God will forgive us and give us another chance. He will — he
always does, as long as there’s time. He’s begging us instead to look at our
gifts, all of them, to pick them up with confidence, to make something with
them, and to carry them where they’re needed — while there’s still time.
That is Jesus’ urgent plea to us this day. By God’s grace may we say “Yes.”

SPIRITUAL BEAUTY HINTS

FOR WRINKLED BROWS
Try the well-known cream
SWEETNESS OF TEMPER
It tones up the facial muscles,
reduces wrinkles and is very uplifting.

FOR THE LIPS
Use the marvelous lipstick
SILENCE
It is particularly good for lips
that have been distorted
by uncharitable gossip.

FOR LOVELY HANDS
There is really only one preparation
GENEROSITY
Get a large size jar.

FOR FACIAL TONE
Expose the face to the morning air
HOLY MASS
is particularly refreshing and uplifting.

FOR CLEAR EYES
Faithful care with tried and true
protective preparation
MODESTY
For best results we recommend that you carry it wherever you go.

An ideal conditioner and beautifier
HOLY COMMUNION

A wonder cleansing agent
CONFESSION

- - -
Ecclesiastes 7:1 - A good reputation is better than expensive perfume...

1 Peter 3:4 - Your beauty should consist of your true inner self, the
ageless beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is the greatest value in
God's sight.

LET GO OF THE PAST
Author Unknown

My child,

Give up! Give up those hurts of the past. It's time to move on. satan
loves to have you live in the past because that renders you
ineffective to live in the present-in the now.

Tell Me, child. What is it that has happened to you? Who hurt you?
What mistakes have you made that you regret? Did what happen to you
change the fact that Jesus loves you, and He died on the cross for you
so you could live in heaven with Him for all eternity?

Can anything or anyone ever change that fact? You know that nothing
can ever nullify what Jesus did for you on the cross. If that's true,
and it is, then nothing else matters, does it?

There is nothing that can happen to you, nothing anyone can do to you
that can ever change the fact that My Son, Jesus, loves you and died
on the cross for you so you gain heaven for all eternity. No one can
ever take that away from you. No One!

Hold on to that thought. Put things in their proper perspective. When
you do that, you'll see that being loved unconditionally, attaining
salvation and the right to go to heaven is your ultimate goal.
Everything else pales in comparison to that.

Even physical death cannot take heaven away from you, for then the
real you-your spirit-just changes abodes. Physical death for
Christians is moving from living in the temple of the Holy Spirit,
your body, to living in heaven.

I know, My child, I know. Your mind is often filled with hurtful
things that happen to you. Sometimes you even say to people "You don't
know how much it hurt Me when such and such happened." Well, I ask you
again, does what happen to you in the past change the fact that Jesus
loves you and died for you, and now you can spend eternity with Him in
heaven? I don't have to wait for your answer, because I know
immediately your mind said, "No!"

Then, child, nothing else matters! Compared to eternity, all problems
are nothing. Loving Me, being in My family, gaining the right to live
in heaven for eternity-that' s what's important in life. If you lose
that, you've lost it all. Don't hold grudges. forgive! Nothing you can
gain on earth can
make up for that loss, and nothing can happen to you on earth that can
take that away from you- Nothing!

Love,
God

CONTEMPLATION
By Rene and Nena Lagdameo
October 2, 2011

I. Let us come into our hearts,

His favorite resting place, His temple dear.

Let us come where He awaits -

the Father, Saviour, Sanctifier.

Let us come to the Trinity, our Family, our Lord, our God.

Let us come to Jesus Christ, our King!

II. For He is there to gaze at you, to love you.

He is there to show your sins, to pardon you.

He is there to show your wounds, your hurts, to heal you,

to give His peace, Jesus Christ our King.

III. So, let us come to simply be with Him in silence.

Let's adore Him, love Him, rest in Him in silence.

Let us thank Him, plead to Him in silence.

Contemplate, gaze at Him in silence.

IV. Let us learn to simply pray in silence.

Let's be alert, awake, aware, attentive,

let us learn to humbly bow in silence.

Be still, listen now in silence.

V. For he is there to wait for us to be like Him.

To surrender, to say yes to Him, to trust Him.

To fill us with His heavenly gifts of love and peace.

He is there, be with Him, in silence.

VI. He thought of you, and loved you from eternity...

He willed you, formed you, moulded you, He needs you...

to bring His love and peace to those around...

who walk the earth in loneliness and fear.

VII. To heal them, to forgive them, to love them...

to make them know His love through those who serve...

to call them, too, to use them for others near...

till all the world is one with Him forever.

VIII. O, brother, sister, come and gaze at His self-sacrifice...

Gaze at His love throughout His earthly life unto the Cross.

He left the Eucharist, the Bread of Life, to nourish us...

to be with us, to lead us on, to Heaven.

IX. O brother, sister, He who totally gave His life that you may live,

Can you not fully give it back for Him to use...?

To serve Him with the Gifts He gave that others, too,

May live for Him, Jesus Christ, our King!

Prayer for Faith, Grace and the Intercession

of Our Lady of the Angels

Heavenly Father, you filled the heart
of St. Francis with a special love
for the Mother of Your Son, Jesus,
and for the Portiuncula.

In this hallowed place you nourished
his spiritual life and inspired him
to found the Franciscan Order.

Through the intercession of Our Lady
of the Angels may we be steadfast
in our faith and remain true to You.

Grant us the faith and grace always to do Your will.
Grant this through Your Son, Jesus Christ.

AMEN

Feast of the Guardian Angels

Perhaps no aspect of Catholic piety is as comforting to parents as the
belief that an angel protects their little ones from dangers real and
imagined. Yet guardian angels are not just for children. Their role is to
represent individuals before God, to watch over them always, to aid their
prayer and to present their souls to God at death.
The concept of an angel assigned to guide and nurture each human being is a
development of Catholic doctrine and piety based on Scripture but not
directly drawn from it. Jesus' words in Matthew 18:10 best support the
belief: "See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to
you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly
Father."

Devotion to the angels began to develop with the birth of the monastic
tradition. St. Benedict (July 11) gave it impetus and Bernard of Clairvaux
(August 20), the great 12th-century reformer, was such an eloquent spokesman
for the guardian angels that angelic devotion assumed its current form in
his day.

A feast in honor of the guardian angels was first observed in the 16th
century. In 1615, Pope Paul V added it to the Roman calendar.

Comment:
Devotion to the angels is, at base, an expression of faith in God's enduring
love and providential care extended to each person day in and day out until
life's end.
Quote:
"May the angels lead you into paradise;
may the martyrs come to welcome you
and take you to the holy city,
the new and eternal Jerusalem." (Rite for Christian Burial)

Praying for all of your intentions - and asking the Angels to help pray for
our needs, with Mary's intercession..

Comment:
Devotion to the angels is, at base, an expression of faith in God's enduring
love and providential care extended to each person day in and day out until
life's end.
Quote:
"May the angels lead you into paradise;
may the martyrs come to welcome you
and take you to the holy city,
the new and eternal Jerusalem." (Rite for Christian Burial)

Praying for all of your intentions - and asking the Angels to help pray for
our needs, with Mary's intercession..
