I agree circles. It's not something that would put me in the holiday mood. I'm happy someone is willing to go through all of that work. It's fun to look at.

There was a movie with Matthew Broderick and Danny DeVito about living next-door to someone who had extreme Christmas decorations. It was pretty funny. Of course Danny DeVito was the nut who went all out. He wanted his light display to be seen by outerspace.

At least it's mostly steady lights! There is a house on a main street in my town that has just about every inch of their lawn and house lit up and every section is flashing and pulsing at various speeds and it instantly makes my head throb! I've had to change my route to my daughter's house because I honestly cannot handle all the flashing lights.

mr Sylvia is having a knee replacement on December29. he won't be able to take the lights down so it's kind of a plain Christmas. (outside). for us this year. This house is like a fairyland. really fun to see

Puts me in the spirit. It's the flashing lights that I don't like. A steady or twinkling light is my preference.

I also can't imagine living next door!

Sometimes while working I have the TV on in the background and yesterday all day on Bravo they were showing different extreme Christmas decorating shows...one was called the ""Great Christmas Light Fight"" where one family out of four finalists would win 50k for their display and there were a few other similar type of shows.

Each of these families explained how their decorating obsessions started and how they can't stop and keep it from growing each year! Many start planning the following Christmas display in January and they physically start sometime in the summer or early fall working many hours each and every day setting it up!

One guy even gave up going on vacation at the last minute a few times because he was working on his Christmas display and his wife went without him...I think that is too crazy! I can't imagine the time and money devoted to this!!!

In another post, I wrote my neighbor won the 50thousand dollars in the fight light contest. He lives around the corner across the street from my daughter. He also decorations the whole cul Da sac. They have signs posted no parking in driveways. His display is beautiful and everything was drawn, cut and painted by hand. I was so happy for him, a wonderful man . He also made the Golden Gate bridge out of tooth picks and won for that. It can be seen, the Christmas house on Facebook. It was on TV last week. His name is Scott weaver. Check it out. Nothing was done by computer.
