A secret, private club only for the wealthy inside of Disneyland in Anaheim. To think I walked right by it as a kid with my family and we never knew. Sorry we ever contributed to their coffers knowing now that there was/is an exclusionary club hidden from view unless you knew the right people to get in.

I never knew about this either. I've also known quite a few people who worked there (cast members) and never heard them mention it.

I was telling my husband and he says real serious-like, "well, they will NEVER get our business." Omg, too funny!!!!!

I'm wondering...do the members have to pay fees to take advantage of this? Because if they do, it isn't really any different than what many other businesses do with their "clubs"...such as the airlines, where you can go into the priority club lounges in the airports.

We paid for that with United, for many years when we were traveling so often, and it wasn't cheap. But we had nice quiet places to wait while on layovers, with free drinks, snacks, clean bathrooms, etc.

While originally intended for exclusive use by Disneyland's Corporate sponsors and other industry VIPs, when Club 33 opened in May 1967—five months after Disney's death—individual memberships were also offered. As of 2011, there is a 14-year waiting list for new memberships. The membership waiting list was re-opened in May 2012 after being closed for 5 years.^[4] Corporate members pay an initiation fee of $40,000, and individual members pay $27,000 in addition to annual dues, which are about $11,000. Initiation and dues may change annually.

There are lots of ""exclusionary"" clubs in this world. I don't feel left out if people belong to them.

If you know a member you can have a wonderful lunch or dinner in high style! And there is a select group of souvenirs you can buy. I have many Disney friends who have been there, it's above the Blue Bayou.

I've heard of it. I'll never get to go there. It doesn't bother me. I'll still spend lots of money @ Disney in years to come because I enjoy it.

I bet we could come up with a nice long list of exclusive clubs around the country.

For Starters . . .

The Petroleum Club in Fort Worth . . . annual dues use to be 40K per year . . . I don't remember IF that was the amount for companies or also individuals as ""most"" of the memberships were for companies.

Club 33 is above the Pirates of the carribean ride. There is a door, seen when you exit left, that has a 33 on it. It costs a lot to belong, like 50 grand?. Mostly corporations belong. We've been fortunate enough to go twice. Both times were because of my husband's corporate sponsors. It's pretty fun and special, and pretty exclusive. The history is that Walt wanted to be able to drink liquor on the premises, thus his club 33. Whenever we are at Disneyland I always gaze longingly at that door, lol!

You can see pictures on the ""net. I don't mind about this exclusive club as Walt Disney gave me some of my best memories in life. Most people know by now but the family also has an apartment over the fire house (with a lamp always lit) so they could stay overnight. I got to fly in the Disney private jet (my dad's job made it possible) and the jet is nice but the private hanger had a nicer kitchen than I have at home. And who was cooking in that kitchen?

Have known about it and know where it is, for decades. Have never given it a second thought as far as it being any sort of negative. It's not like Disney parks are public or govt property.
