    <description>&lt;P&gt;The policy should be openly posted and accurate although I have to admit I might well not have noticed it.  Lots of places list that only store credit is available.  I know that, but I do forget how important it is, especially if I shop rarely in a particular store where credit wouldn't make my happy at all.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;I will take OP's post as a reminder to check my totals before signing and walking away.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;And just out of curiosity I will find out what the law is in Florida regarding issues like this one.  I have no idea and I should.  I don't expect the law to be the same as for major contracts like those on cars.  No reason for us to pay government to protect us from this kind of error, IMO.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Not sure if you have a Five Below store around you but they do not allow refunds in anything other than Store Credit..even with a receipt.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;I purchased some holiday ornaments yesterday and thought the sign said $1..it was something else on that Rack that was $1..the Ornaments were $3..after I paid and looked at my receipt as I couldn't imagine why it was so high..I noticed I spent $30 on these ornaments. I took them back..no way am I paying that much...I had the receipt..no problem they were processing the refund and went to grab a Gift Card..they were only going to give me Store Credit. I had a fit..absolutely not!&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;I looked for a sign or anything that said they do not offer any refund other then Store Credit..I paid with my bank card doing the transaction as Credit.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt; All I found was a sign that said if any item that was defective a return  would be issued asStore Credit..and then they below that listed forms of payment accepted  - no checks or Amex accepted.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt; No where did they say that no refunds back to your original form of payment would be made..&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;I demanded a Manager who told me that I could only receive Store Credit..company policy. I asked him to show me the sign that stated that - as I could not find it.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt; He showed me the sign that said any defective or broken item would be issued Store Credit. I said that isn't what i am doing. I have a receipt..I no longer wanted the item once I realized the price  since the stand was not clearly marked.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;He tried to give me a hard time. I told him no such policy was clear anywhere..they do not say that if you buy something with a Credit Card and return it you only receive Store Credit..&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;He did give me my refund back to my card - my original form of payment..only after I argued with him and told him no such policy was marked anywhere..he looked to find such a sign and couldn't..  I wasn't asking for Cash Back just put it back on my card and I can clearly understand Store Credit without a Receipt..but with a receipt ..&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;I don't think so..what if that was somebody whose $30 was their grocery money..? The rack had $1 but it was for something else they said. I still didn't even see $3 sign anywhere for each ..but that was another story lol..&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt; I am going to email corporate about this so called Policy. I know Burlington Coat Factory had that policy years ago and had to change it.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Isn't there some &lt;STRONG&gt;legal&lt;/STRONG&gt; thing stating you must receive a &lt;STRONG&gt;refund&lt;/STRONG&gt; if you return something within three days?  It has nothing to do with store policy; I believe it's a law.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am going to look it up myself..I know in Contracts for cars or other things you have a 3-day cooling off period so to speak..you can change your mind with full refund...can't imagine a store being allowed to make you take Store Credit for a return..WITH a Receipt.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;oh the Manager wasn't too happy with me..he only gave in I think because he couldn't show me anywhere that it stated such a policy and he wanted me out of there..holding up the line and drawing the attention of other shoppers.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;Five bucks I would of taken store credit probably...$30 no way..I hardly spend any money in that store but bought some stocking stuffers and actually gave to Toys for Tots as they had a promotion ...and the only thing I did wrong and I will not make that mistake in the future..is if I think my bill it too high.. look before I pay.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;Thanks for the response ladies.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Good to know about 5 Below.  There is one of those stores north of here and I've never gone in it.  I usually don't return items very often, but if I needed to, I'd want my money back.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;I recently purchased shoes online that states free shipping and free return shipping.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;The shoes were cute but ran small so I had to return them.  I went online and filled out the return form to receive a return label and I was charged $7.95 to return the shoes.  They only way to get the return free was to have a store credit when shoes were returned.  Kind of shady in my opinion.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt; &lt;/P&gt;</description>

While some states may offer them, most do not.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;Stores usually are only required by law to replace (but not necessarily) refund defective merchandise. &lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;When I worked at a Interior Design studio, we had to tell the customer that they had 3 days to cancel their order. It was the law here in Nebraska. I don't know if that law still exists or not.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I made a terrible mistake several years ago . . . my daughter and I were out of town on an honor band weekend for symphonic band . . . after we were done for a treat we stopped by the mall since it was a much larger town and it was the holidays.  &lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;I bought her a flat iron from one of those blasted kiosks in the mall.  Paid too much.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;After we bought it and he ran the credit card and printed the receipt THEN he use a stamp with ink pad and a stamped the receipt NO RETURNS.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;No sign no nothing.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;When I got home and looked up the item and he said it had a 5 year warranty and it did NOT, only 1 year and for the price it should have had a 5 year.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;Called and told him I planned to return it and requested a return and he said NO.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;So I did a little research on the internet and I had paid with my Visa and their agreement states  return policy must be clearly displayed at the register.  So I knew I was in the right.  &lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;I disputed the charge.  And as part of the dispute you have to return the item so I shipped it with signature required via UPS.  It was delivered and the jerk REFUSED it. So it was returned to me.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;Visa decided in MY FAVOR and credited my account with a permanent credit from the previous temporary credit when I filed the dispute.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;They said I didn't have to return the item yet AGAIN as he had refused it, after opening it, the first  time around. &lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;So, the jerk was OUT the money and OUT the product.  I donated it next time Purple Heart came around the neighborhood.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;I didn't win the dispute about him lying about the warranty time period.  But I won it due to the No Return policy stamped on receipt AFTER the sale.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;I will never ever, ever buy  anything  from a kiosk seller again.  I won't even slow down when they approach me or try to approach me at the mall.  They could be giving away money and I'll never even give them the time of day.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt; &lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;There are a lot of stores that offer store credit only for returns.  I will not do business with that type of store ever nor will I buy things that are final sales or where there are no returns period.  It's always best to know a return policy before paying.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;A 3-day right of rescision has nothing to do with returning to a retail store.  It has to do with contracts for vehicles, home improvements, etc.  And as someone else said, not every state has that law.    &lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>I checked their return policy on line and it is very vague. They say that if a item is defective or does not fit they will exchange it OR GIVE STORE CREDIT. This is very restrictive. No refund even if it doesn't work??? As far as returns for any other reason like just changed your mind there is nothing stated at all. I would certainly not shop there.</description>

      <description>Glad you got your money back! I was so mad at myself for breaking my own rule and buying something from a No refund store, but I thought I had to have this top that was in the store window...of course when I tried it on in my own mirror, I thought what was I thinking !! Back to the store it went and I was lucky to find a purse I liked but this time I have learned my lesson I hope ):</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Learned that hard lesson many, many years ago when my daughter was young and we had very little money.  I bought her a very expensive gift at Best Buy, paying cash.  Changed my mind the next day and went to return the item and they told me I would be issued a refund check in 10-14 days (this was the week before Christmas).  I had a hissy fit because this was the major portion of my hard saved Christmas monies.  I don't remember if I cried or just had enough of a fit but they did eventually give me back my money.  I will never, ever forget that and while I do shop Best Buy occasionally, they still leave a bad taste in my mouth giving them my business.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
