Giving Tuesday

My first time hearing about this. Anyone participating?

WHAT IS #GIVINGTUESDAY?

We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, December 2, 2014, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.

It’s a simple idea. Just find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to come together to give something more. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving. Join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity.

I looked for another post re: Giving Tuesday before posting mine...basically the same post. The coffee must not have kicked in yet because I am just noticing this now

Yes, I am participating! We give year around, but always a little extra around the holidays. We have several charities that we support, both local and global. I will be writing a couple of checks today as well as taking some extra blankets and coats to the homeless shelter. This is what Christmas is about to me.

Sadly, we ate out at our favorite lunch spot yesterday and then got a FB notice today that they are giving 20% of all proceeds today to local charity. IF anyone wants a burger at Wahlburgers, today would be a good day to go.

Micheal J Fox Foundation is matching all donations today for Parkinson research.

No worries, the more info that gets out there the better. And good for you for participating as well as donating needed goods to shelters!

I just saw this. If you donate to (RED) Bank of America will match it 2 to 1 in honor of #GivingTuesday!!!
