Hello my friends! Hope your Monday went well. All I really got done today was the laundry and three loaves of Health Bread. He works tonight till 8 so I'll have something ready for him to eat then. It's the only night he works, otherwise he gets off at 5:00. I am frustrated that when I prepare the thread of inspirations, it all comes in one bunch, no paragraphs while I have it all paragraphed out and neat. I wonder how I can make it look more presentable. I'll try something different with this thread and see if it's better or worse. I'll try bold too. Bear with me as I try to get this as perfect and neat as I possibly can. Very cold out today - I stayed in. Winter came just too fast for me!!! Praying for you all for all your needs. Keep remembering Darla in prayer, thank you and God bless you!

Choose the direction of your day and then make a point of enjoying your choices.

Lord, help me to do what I can when I can, but also, help me to know when doing

nothing is the better choice.

S C R I P T U R E F O R T H E D A Y

"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I

will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am

gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my

yoke is easy, and my burden is light." ~Matthew 11:28-30

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

In our times of meditation we can seem to hear: "Come to me, all you that

are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." Again

and again we can seem to hear God saying this to us. "Come to me" for the

solution of every problem, for the overcoming of every temptation, for the

calming of every fear, for all our needs ... physical, mental or spiritual,

but mostly "come to me" for the strength we need to live with peace of mind

and the power to be useful and effective.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that I may go to God today for those things which I need to help me

live. I pray that I may find real peace of mind.

Prayer for Perseverance in Faith

Father, keep us from vain strife of words. Grant to us constant profession of the Truth! Preserve us in a true and undefiled Faith so that we may hold fast to that which we professed when we were baptized in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit - that we may have Thee for our Father, that we may abide in Thy Son and in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Saint Hilary of Poitiers, Bishop and Doctor

Prayer for My Child

I come to You in Jesus name and give (name of

child) to You. I'm convinced that You alone

know what is best for him/her. You alone know

what he/she needs. I release him/her to You

to care for and protect, and I commit myself to

pray for everything concerning him/her that I

can think of or that You put upon my heart.

Teach me how to pray and guide me in what to

pray about. Help me not to impose my own will

when I'm praying for him/her, but rather

enable me to pray that Your will be done in

his/her life.

Thank You that I can partner with You in raising

him/her and that I don't have to rely on the

world's unreliable and ever-changing methods

for child rearing, but that I can have clear

directions from Your Word and wisdom as I pray

to You for answers.

Thank You, Lord, for the precious gift of this

child. Because Your Word says that every good

gift comes from You, I know that You have

given him/her to me to care for and raise. Help

me do that. Show me places where I continue

to hang on to him/her and enable me to release

him/her to Your protection, guidance, and

counsel. Help me not to live in fear of possible

dangers, but in the joy and peace of knowing

that You are in control. I rely on You for

everything, and this day I trust my child to You

and release him/her into Your hands.

~By Stormie Omartian

Finders Keepers

A wise woman who was travelling in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveller who was hungry, and the wise woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveller saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him. She did so without hesitation.

The traveller left, rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime. But a few days later he came back to return the stone to the wise woman. "I've been thinking," he said, "I know how valuable the stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious: Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me the stone."

Prayer:

Grant O Lord, My God, a mind to know you,

a heart to seek you,

wisdom to find you,

conduct pleasing to you,

faithful perseverance in waiting for you

and a hope of finally embracing you.

- - -

Acts 20:35 - (Jesus said) "There is more happiness in giving than in receiving."

Advent Day 2 - The Unsatisfied Longing

I've always sensed that the Advent attitudes of waiting, expecting, hoping, and anticipating somehow speak to the deepest desires of our heart. That is probably because our whole existence here below is characterized precisely by these attitudes.

The world is filled with wonderful things and experiences-deep joys and satisfactions. But we all know that nothing here finally satisfies us.

No matter how much we know, we want to know more; no matter how much we love, we want greater love; no matter how much beauty we attain, we sense that there is a perfect beauty that we haven't seen.

"O come O come, Emmanuel, and ransom captive Israel." That great Advent hymn catches our ache. As we move into this season of anticipation, allow that ache to develop, preparing you for the satisfaction that will arrive only in Christ.

Grant to us constant profession

of the Truth! Preserve us in a true and undefiled Faith so that we may hold

fast to that which we professed when we were baptized in the Name of the

Father, Son and Holy Spirit - that we may have Thee for our Father, that we

may abide in Thy Son and in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Through Jesus

Christ, Our Lord. I'm convinced that You alone

know what is best for him/her. You alone know

what he/she needs. I release him/her to You

to care for and protect, and I commit myself to

pray for everything concerning him/her that I

can think of or that You put upon my heart.

Teach me how to pray and guide me in what to

pray about. Help me not to impose my own will

when I'm praying for him/her, but rather

enable me to pray that Your will be done in

his/her life.

Thank You that I can partner with You in raising

him/her and that I don't have to rely on the

world's unreliable and ever-changing methods

for child rearing, but that I can have clear

directions from Your Word and wisdom as I pray

to You for answers.

Thank You, Lord, for the precious gift of this

child. Show me places where I continue

to hang on to him/her and enable me to release

him/her to Your protection, guidance, and

counsel. Help me not to live in fear of possible

dangers, but in the joy and peace of knowing

that You are in control. I rely on You for

everything, and this day I trust my child to You

and release him/her into Your hands.

~By Stormie Omartian

Finders Keepers

A wise woman who was travelling in the mountains found a precious stone in a

stream. The next day she met another traveller who was hungry, and the wise

woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveller saw the

precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him. She did so without

hesitation.

The traveller left, rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was

worth enough to give him security for a lifetime. But a few days later he

came back to return the stone to the wise woman. "I've been thinking," he

said, "I know how valuable the stone is, but I give it back in the hope that

you can give me something even more precious: Give me what you have within

you that enabled you to give me the stone."

Prayer:

Grant O Lord, My God, a mind to know you,

a heart to seek you,

wisdom to find you,

conduct pleasing to you,

faithful perseverance in waiting for you

and a hope of finally embracing you.

- - -

Acts 20:35 - (Jesus said) "There is more happiness in giving than in

receiving."

Advent Day 2 - The Unsatisfied Longing

I've always sensed that the Advent attitudes of waiting, expecting, hoping,

and anticipating somehow speak to the deepest desires of our heart. That is

probably because our whole existence here below is characterized precisely

by these attitudes.

The world is filled with wonderful things and experiences-deep joys and

satisfactions. But we all know that nothing here finally satisfies us.

No matter how much we know, we want to know more; no matter how much we

love, we want greater love; no matter how much beauty we attain, we sense

that there is a perfect beauty that we haven't seen.

"O come O come, Emmanuel, and ransom captive Israel." That great Advent hymn

catches our ache. As we move into this season of anticipation, allow that

ache to develop, preparing you for the satisfaction that will arrive only in

Christ.

Amen.

Saint Hilary of Poitiers, Bishop and Doctor

Prayer for My Child

I come to You in Jesus name and give (name of

child) to You. I'm convinced that You alone

know what is best for him/her. You alone know

what he/she needs. I release him/her to You

to care for and protect, and I commit myself to

pray for everything concerning him/her that I

can think of or that You put upon my heart.

Teach me how to pray and guide me in what to

pray about. Help me not to impose my own will

when I'm praying for him/her, but rather

enable me to pray that Your will be done in

his/her life.

Thank You that I can partner with You in raising

him/her and that I don't have to rely on the

world's unreliable and ever-changing methods

for child rearing, but that I can have clear

directions from Your Word and wisdom as I pray

to You for answers.

Thank You, Lord, for the precious gift of this

child. Because Your Word says that every good

gift comes from You, I know that You have

given him/her to me to care for and raise. Help

me do that. Show me places where I continue

to hang on to him/her and enable me to release

him/her to Your protection, guidance, and

counsel. Help me not to live in fear of possible

dangers, but in the joy and peace of knowing

that You are in control. I rely on You for

everything, and this day I trust my child to You

and release him/her into Your hands.

~By Stormie Omartian

Finders Keepers

Christ.

All I want is the paragraphs to be there as they are when I submit. Everything jumples together then. I don't know the answer. So I'll be using word pad, at least it's more readable.

GLORIA---confession ! Although I like to believe that I am a spiritual person, I am not so sure about what I believe in. And yet I still read your postings ..paragraphs or not ! Don't make extra work for yourself, Sweet Lady...we are all grateful for what you already do and share. I would love to have your e-mail addy for bread recipes. I may have noticed that you posted it in the past but I skim over those types of postings figuring the info is not my business. Did Darla go to the Dr. and is she feeling better ? Once the antibiotic kicks in it will be like a miracle. Yesterday was spring like....went to the market with just a sweater. Today I am wishing I had long Johns. I watched a little bit of a country Christmas special last night and, even though I have never been a fan, I have to say that Leeann Rimes has a beautiful voice.

Blue - thanks - did you notice that when I posted that scam letter by copying and pasting it there, all the paragraghs were on there. But not on my thread. GRrrrrr! I still would like to know the answer to make the thread more presentable to my wonderful friends here. Those graphics are super good! Glad you didn't change them. Be happy now!!

Danky - thanks for your wonderful post! My email address is lgflint@charter.net - Darla texted me last night that yes, she had the flu, is fine now, went to class last night, her students had their presentations. Prayer works wonders! Very cold here in MN. You are lucky for warmer weather. I would be happy to send you the bread recipes.

Good morning!

Gloria, you have put yourself to a lot of trouble trying to post. The fonts look different and the 1st post looks fine to me, you know I like bold print. Sorry you had such a time, hopefully when you post today it will turn out just the way you like it. You should be able to go and manually do the paragraphs. After each paragraph, just hit return and it should line up. Do you have microsoft word by any chance? If so, you can do a copy/paste to word, get it how you want and then copy/paste to the forum. Just a thought. Glad to hear Darla is better.

Hello to BGB, Harlene and Danky. Hope your day is going well.

Love the graphics, so colorful, thanks, BGB.

My family got home safely from Disney World late Sunday evening. They ran into heavy traffic so it delayed the trip about 3 hours. I guess lots of other people decided to go to Disney.

I can't believe it is already December, this year has flown by. They say as you get older that time seems to fly, I guess "they" are right! lol

It is such a pretty day, our temps have mellowed enough to have the back door open. I wish I could send some of y'all our nice weather. It would be nice if it lasted until next spring. Not holding my breath.

Clothes in the dryer are calling my name. I wish they'd shut up! lol Dishwasher is too. These appliances are getting on my nerves! lol

Have a blessed day, everyone. Take care.
