Hi Panda!!! I sent you the link..I would love to somehow get in touch with these pilots. My uncle used to fly around in those small planes..I was raised on planes, since my dad worked for TWA..remember that airline?? We got to travel the world, I was a lucky little girl! Guess it got in my blood..have you seen the pictures of the dogs looking out the windows of the plane?? Precious!! My aunt joined Vista volunteers after her husband died and moved to Alaska! You had to travel by boat as she lived in such a remote place. She loved working with the Eskimos, and made such a difference..I guess its my turn now, to do something meaningful!

http://www.pilotsnpaws.org/

Thanks Panda, Emmy sends you hugs and kisses, she's the inspiration..I want to help other dogs! Love you, Emmy's mom~

Awhile back, someone had posted a thread about this organization. They do wonderful work. In my area, we routinely get carloads of dogs from high kill shelters in the south, as we have a shortage of available dogs to adopt in my region. New Englanders tend to be pretty diligent about getting their animals fixed, so there isn't a huge stray problem here.

There's nothing that makes me happier than to see film clips of these dogs arriving with their humans waiting for them to bring them to their new homes.

They just did a huge rescue of around 700 from the south. It was amazing to see all the planes lining up to load the furries. I got emotional as I saw the planes leave one by one. On their website there are all sorts of ways you can help so view it and see if any work for you. It is amazing to read the rescue stories.

doxie

Her name is Cassidy. The Smoothies are popular in the hotter states, especially Arizona. They've been very much favored by AKC judges in shows the past few years so breeders are breeding more of them. I can give her a good brushing in 30 seconds. She has the sweet, loving collie disposition. I'll enter her in herding instinct testing in May and see if she's any good at that.
