Danish Kringle At Trader Joe's

I remember seeing a discussion recently about Kringles, but now I can't find it. I didn't know what they were at the time, but now I do, and I thought some here would like to know that Trader Joe's has them... in a limited amount, they say.

They're from a bakery in Wisconsin that sells them for $20 each, and TJoe's has them for just under $8.00 each. I think they're all the same kind, marzipan filling, which I love!

DD brought one for us to try yesterday and it's delicious!

I happened to stumble upon them at TJ's last Christmas and was thrilled, because I know how much the company charges to ship them to your home and this was a real bargain. The almond flavor is delicious and also the previously mentioned pumpkin caramel which they carried during Halloween is wonderful too. I still have 1 1/2 pumpkin kringles in my freezer, so if the almond ones are out already, I better run down and get a couple quick.

I'm so glad you mentioned freezing, TG! The woman working there yesterday told DD they freeze really well, I'm going to be on the lookout for them from now on.

A clerk at TJ's told me that they carry kringles only at Halloween and Christmas, so mark your calendar for October, 2015 for the pumpkin caramel ones. They are very good. She also told me that they carry the same two flavors every year.

I'm so glad you mentioned freezing, TG! The woman working there yesterday told DD they freeze really well, I'm going to be on the lookout for them from now on.

They freeze beautifully, so it pays to stock up. I don't wrap them in anything special, I just make sure that the end of the bag is closed to prevent freezer burn. When I want a piece, I take it out of the freezer, cut whatever size piece I want, and put it right back in. I heat them up in my Cuisinart toaster/convection oven and they turn out great.

yep. That's their Halloween flavor and I'm kicking myself that I didn't buy another one and freeze it. My two favorite flavors-caramel and pumpkin!

My husband had a business associate that used to come to California from his home in Wisconsin. He always brought me a few Kringles when he came. I was partial to the raspberry flavor. They do keep well in the freezer. Those things were half the size of a table top, lol. But they are quite thin and light so it takes a BIG slice to make a serving. I will be checking out Joe's. I haven't had one in forever and that pumpkin caramel is call my name.

You know, that's the thing with TJoes, get it when you see it.

They also put out salted dark chocolate caramels at this time of the year. I got one last year and wished I'd bought extras. They seem to keep well, this year I bought a couple of them already to keep around.

I think they've switched to marzipan, cody. Do you like that? I've always loved marzipan.
