Buffalo. NY Posters.......

Have been hearing on the news that there are many without power in Buffalo, and have been thinking of all those folks. Imagine that is why there aren't very many from that neck of the woods......now power, no computer, therefore no posting.

Hope it won't be too awfully long before these folks can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Just can't imagine that kind of snow storm.........

Hope everyone is safe and sound in their homes.

Have also been thinking of all the roofs that are so loaded with this heavy snow. They are offering $10/hour for help in cleaning the snow out of the stadium......how about paying $10/hour for cleaning roofs...... The game can be postponed, but the roofs can't take much more, nor can the houses, etc.

Thanks so much. I'm in the thick of it. Five feet plus. Haven't heard about too many power outages. The snow is falling so fast, plows can't keep up. Travel bans in many towns and villages. We probably won't be able to get out until Saturday. We have enough food for the two of us. They did warn us it was coming so we did stock up. Again, thank you for your concern.

Glad we heard from someone from there.....and that you are safe.......and have plenty food.... I heard earlier that there is more snow coming.......could be several more feet. But, here's hoping they area wrong with that.

The news channels have been covering it very well......

Do keep us posted on what is going on.

My sports radio guys said they could be playing to an empty stadium. they just need to get the game played.

3 more feet expected....... They have rescheduled the game to be played Monday night in Detroit. They just said that on our local news.

I grew up in New York but never got as far as Buffalo. The pictures I have seen are frightening and I hope all of the people in Buffalo stay safe and keep warm. I know it will take days before things begin to appear somewhat normal. I lived on Long Island during a blizzard and we couldn't even open our front doors so I'm getting a clear picture of what is happening. Saying prayers for all of you.

I've said elsewhere - I am a wimp in that I hate the cold. Here in VA, even the little bit of snow we get is a nuisance so I cannot imagine the situation there. Most snow I have encountered was Snowmaggeddon in 2010 into 2011 - 3 feet which was an anomaly here in VA. The thought of twice that is pretty frightening. Stay safe.

Luckily smarter heads prevailed, the the game will NOT be played in Buffalo. All of our officials' time & energy has to go to clearing the streets and roofs of snow.

Many Erie County sheriff's deputies work at the games, directing traffic and keeping the peace. There is NO WAY that they could work at a game instead of helping citizens.

Most of the players live in the Southtowns, the hardest hit areas. They can't even get out of their homes to practice or lift weights at the training facility. It's dangerous to play if you aren't in "game shape" and haven't had a chance to run through the game plan.

I heard on the news that the team is trying to get them out of their homes and onto a plane and they can practice in Detroit, where the game will be played on Monday Night. They want to leave ASAP today.

Last night, 30 buildings collapsed from the weight of the snow.

I personally lost TWO shovels. They just snapped.

I have never shoveled such heavy snow in my life!

$10 an hour is cheap, it cost about $300 to have a roof shoveled here.

Not only is it cheap, people have DIED from shoveling snow here. We are now at 12 deaths due to this storm, many from overexertion.

I have read it's very dangerous to shovel snow. I try to keep that in mind every year when clearing my deck. I work in 10 minute intervals. Stay safe! I might add that not very often do we get a heavy wet snow. It's usually feather light so I clear it before it begins to melt & get heavy.
