Just read about this. So sad. The show won't be the same. Even though WE didn't see her, she apparently was often on set and there for rehearsals. And she was loved by the cast and crew.

Seriously? DH and I always thought the blonde girl that's married to Howard was the 'voice' for Mrs. Wallowitz. Guess we were wrong.

Character actress Carol Ann Susi, known as the voice of the unseen Mrs. Wolowitz on “The Big Bang Theory,” died Tuesday in Los Angeles after a brief battle with cancer, according to Warner Bros. Television. Susi was 62 and had appeared in numerous TV shows since the 1970s.

I wonder what they are going to do with the character?

RIP Carol - she was wonderful in TBBT. I remembered watching an episode of Mad About You and I heard 'the voice'. Could it be? Yes, she was a guest star in an episode where she was a passenger on a train.

I wonder if they will continue with the character. This year we heard more from her as she is living with Stewart. She wasn't heard from much in the past few years. I also miss seeing Sheldon's and Leonard's moms. Raj's parents haven't been seen on the computer either.

This is sad - what a great character - I wonder what will happen with Stuart now.

RIP, Carol Ann Susi. You made so many laugh - there could never be another Mrs. Wolowitz.

I wonder if they will work this into the show.

btw: Sheldon's mom - Laurie Metcalf - has her own sitcom now - The McCarthy's.

Leonard's mom - Christine Baranski (sp) is a main character on The Good Wife so I don't expect them to be on BBT anymore.

I read that..so sad. And that character was being developed w/ Stuart. Since it's a voice only, she might be replaced & the song-line continues. Sounds like she was beloved by the entire cast of BBT.

In one episode Howard's girlfriend did imitate Mrs. W's voice, and perfectly.

Christine Baranski did do visits as Leonard's Mom while she was on The Good Wife as a main character.

Even Alan Cumming being Eli Gold is actively involved as the emcee in Cabaret in NYC while doing the Eli role on The Good Wife.

There are quite a few actors who are currently in two shows. I think it's pretty cool that they can do that more now, should they choose.

As to Ms Susi This makes me sad. I've loved her over the years, including as Howard's mother.

I read this earlier; very sad to learn of her passing! I always wondered, though, if her throat ever hurt her from that yelling?! I wonder, too, if this will have a big impact on the show, or maybe they will be able to find someone who can copy her voice?
