A friend of mine feeds her dog Blue, and tried to promote it to me for my dogs. I looked into it, and even talked to my vet about it. She advised me not to change their diet to that brand, and said it wouldn't be good for my particular breed.

I didn't even think to go ask for a refund Bluegrassbaby but I'm just happy I changed foods and he got better. There appears to be a lot of controversy over BB.

I adopted my pup and went right to Petsmart to get food for him. BB for puppies was highly recommended and it seemed to have good ingredients. After I had the issue w/my pup I starting reading what others wrote about it and wasn't alone in my complaint, however, it also seems like it works well for many dogs. My vet doesn't recommend it.

ETA: My puppy, who just turned 9 months old, is a mixed breed and is currently 43 lbs. so he's not really small.

If I remember, your pup was pooping blood not vomiting blood right? Sounds like your pup had intestinal problems, not digestive problems.

No that's not really small but I think it's the breed that matters, even though yours is mixed, I would take the vets advice any day over someone's opinion.

Same here, and he's a happy little stinker now!!

I can't wait until we change the time back. Hate this standard time, and so does my body. I've felt tired and not rested since the day we changed to this, despite my sleeping 8+ hours each night. In fact, almost every day since I have found myself napping on the couch or recliner too. DST can't come soon enough for me.

I don't like the early dark at all. But I so enjoy the moderating temperatures that finally arrive this time of year where I live.

On the Blue pet foods, this takes me back to when Percy my cat was a little one, newly adopted from a rescue. He had terrible diarrhea, and the Blue was among the foods I tried. Later it turned out that he needed a prescription diet with limited proteins (Duck and Pea at first, then when he developed an allergy to that, Venison and Pea).

But this thread has reminded me that my vet said at the time that Blue and other premium kitten foods were too rich for many kittens.

It turns out that an old rescue remedy, always tried first when kittens have loose stools, is actually the laden-with-preservatives Tender Vittles. It's apparently very constipating, a good thing when one has a tiny kitten with the runs. Didn't help little P, though. They sent a blood sample for pancreatitis, at the time the only place that had that test was Texas Tech, and it came back positive. I thought I wouldn't have P very long, but he is doing well now at age eleven.

I set my phone to remind me of everything now....

BGB, I set all these reminders on my phone, iPad and Mac, too. I consider them an essential component of my memory bank!

The time changes usually don't bother me. Maybe it's a result of all the years of working in IT, where we have crazy, unpredictable schedules all the time ... not sure.

So true dooB, just wish I could get DH to put me a Mac under the tree for Christmas ... unfortunately, only in my dreams. House taxes due in January.

Aw, maybe you can ask Santa? I really have enjoyed the Macs I've used (work and home) over the years. It's a great investment.
