I do have Prime, but ordered Friday and got today at 5:00 PM Calif. time. It's Sunday. I wasn't home, but left at 4:30 and home at 5:30. I get so quick from Amazon and LL Bean. The Q takes forever on everything.

I wonder if a drone delivered it. We do not get UPS my usual delivery or foot mail on Sunday.

I love Amazon and Bean, A1 Customer service and delivery.

I've heard about Sunday deliveries from Amazon. I think that's awesome! I'm also a prime member and have been happy that some of my Saturday orders have been delivered on Mondays. I didn't expect them until Tuesday...since I felt Sundays weren't considered business days.

I read that even the U.S. Postal Service is starting some Sunday deliveries, guess everyone's gearing up for the holidays.

I received an order from Amazon last Sunday. Since it was Sunday I wasn't expecting anyone. I was sitting on my front porch, and cannot see the flagstone walkway, or driveway from that vantage point. When he walked into my line of sight, I almost jumped out of my skin. i thought it was just me and the birdies out there. We laughed and he apologized for scaring me. I think Sunday deliveries are becoming a regular thing for them.

I'm not a Prime member so I was totally shocked that the USPS delivered my Amazon order today. I think delivery times generally pick up near the holidays because I had only placed the order two days earlier. I had ordered some toys for my Grandson from Walmart.com, and that order came in record time too....and their prices were way better than Amazon.

It was probably a USPS delivery today.

I also ordered from Amazon around the same time and USPS delivered it early this afternoon.

No drones.

I got a package from them today too. This is the second time I ordered and received my delivery on a Sunday. I love Amazon...they are lightning fast.

Okay...this next week, I'm going to do a little experiment, and place an order on Friday..then see if it arrives on Sunday! I have plenty of things to order between now and Christmas. I'll just send in one of the orders on Friday.

I want Sunday deliveries, too! It's actually a good day for me to have orders come. I'm usually home for most of the day.

I ordered late Thursday with Prime, and they say it will be delivered Tuesday (dog food). OP must live in one of those "experimental" areas.

not a sunday delivery.....but I did order a movie.... for my granddaughter and I to watch....on Tuesday evening....it was at my doorstep on Thursday ....noon...and I do not have Prime...

their delivery service is amazing....

I have a question for you, if I may. You state that you are NOT a Prime member. I know that Prime members have their orders shipped for free but non-Primes will receive free shipping with orders over $35. I placed an order for various items and it totaled over $100. When I went to check out, I assumed I would receive free shipping but the shipping rate was about $20. I didn't order due to the high shipping so I am wondering if you received free shipping? Do you happen to know why I didn't receive shipping on my order over $35? I really need these items and they cannot be found locally but the high shipping is bothering me. docsgirl....when you were at the check out....did you click on ""free shipping""??? Amazon automatically has second day delivery checked so its up to us to change it to free shipping which would take a little longer for it to arrive...but usually its to your home in record time anyway....

the only way some of your items won't be free shipping...is if they are coming from a secondary company within Amazon....

The address label should show who delivered it. Where I live USPS delivers on Sunday and fed ex delivers on Saturday for amazon.

A few months ago a gift I sent via Amazon was delivered on Easter Sunday. The recipient lives in San Diego and apparently Amazon has an arrangement with the local post office for Sunday deliveries. But on Easter? It was free shipping with Prime.

I don't know how to explain the difference in why Amazon and QVC have such different delivery times - although I do know I get my Q packages about 5 days faster than I did in the 1990' when they first started.

One of the explanations for Amazon's fast time must have to do with Bezo's plan to expand and expand at the expense of operating budget profits. Amazon loses hundreds of millions of dollars a year in their operating budget even as their revenues go up and up. I can't say I understand how long they can keep up that weird balance. I know some of their big investors are getting antsy and pressuring changes.

One change they made recently was to start offering a dollar off on your next purchase if you didn't need two-day service. Not a good offer for me usually because I really don't like rebates that can only be used to buy more, but that day, I was going to order something else anyway. So, I just waited for that other item until the rebate was mine. Got my book within two days anyway - needed the paper that time. That's a way for them to save a bit AND get customers to buy more.
