Are You An Only Child ?

I can remember a few times when I would have been happy to help Santa grant your wish LOL. But now that we're older, it's nice to have siblings.

No, but my son is. He experienced lonliness at times, and probably still wishes he had a sibling. I tried my best to combat much of it, even becoming his playmate at times. To this day he jokes around and tells people how good I am at playing video games.

I am and so is my DD. I have a brother that my dad adopted after I left home. I wanted more children but my ex DH didn't. My DH has brothers and a sister and it's interesting to see the interaction between them.

There's more good than bad, imo I've researched quite a bit about it over the years.

The only drawback I've experienced is when my parents got older and needed help and I was their only child. But! I have a great husband who was with me and did so much. We've always been partners.

It has here. Two siblings and me have and will take care of them and his uncle. We did with his mother and grandmother.

It has here. Two siblings and me have and will take care of them and his uncle. We did with his mother and grandmother.

Two sisters have been my lifelong friends since we were about 4 years old. One sister has lived in Europe since college age. It fell on one alone to do all the caretaking of the parents.

When my stepdad was dying, I stayed with them for 2 months til the end. My sister came for short visits twice. My brother and I were the main caretakers.

Yes, in our situation the reasons were very valid. My sister did what she could, given her circumstances. She had clients who depended on her. I hope I didn't give the impression I resented it. I didn't. With my mom, she has been told, although they say it's probably not likely, she could possibly live 3 years. She still drives, and will be flying here for Thanksgiving. She was placed in the Vitas program because there is nothing more medicine can do for her.

Only child here. Hated it all my life and was not spoiled, almost the opposite. I have two grown daughters. One east coast and one west. They hardly ever speak and see each other. Makes me so sad.
