I think it's great that she is a philanthropist but find her someone best avoided including her magazine etc.

I can't believe anyone cares what her favorite things are. I don't hate her, but it's so overboard with her it gets annoying.

I like how she included several of her own items on there like her book, shirt and there was one other thing I can't remember.

I see the Vitamix is on that list. Now that will be a real selling point on QVC!

Thank you for sharing. I always find her list interesting although after watching a behind the scenes show about her MFT, I realized these are just items she picks, not ones she necessarily uses and are really favorites.

I would think her favorite things are whatever the manufacturers are willing to gift the audience.

They actually showed Oprah shopping with assistants, picking out her "favorite" things. For instance, she wanted a pair of flat shoes to be on the list so they all went shopping to find these shoes. It wasn't anything she'd been wearing or was really a favorite. They did that with a lot of the items. People brought them to her and she picked from what was presented to her.

What audience is Oprah giving these things to?

Oprah doesn't have a studio audience any more, but I do believe that when she did, her "favorite things" were what manufacturers were willing to give to the audience. Free advertising. Look what it did for Spanx, Philosophy & others.

With all O's money she should take better care of her feet. I saw a recent picture of her in sandals, bunions galore, and quite disgusting.

I don't generally watch her network so I thought maybe she still had a once a year show to give all this stuff away.

Small candles that cost $60? Wow! It must be great to be Oprah!

I do like the Kate Spade ballpoint pens though.

When we'd go to Atlanta's Merchandise Mart (the market where retailer's buy items to sell in their stores) The vendors whose items were mentioned as ""Oprah's favorite Things"" would have banners and posters outside their showrooms promoting the items. You'd be surprised to see the stores who lined up to order the product to sell in their own stores.

I don't know if she has quite the demand now that her daily show is no longer on the air.

The first year she did this she had several interesting products. Now, not so much.
