I honestly think there are posters here who have an ""in"" with the mods and get things poofed just because..... JMO It could also be that one of the posters here IS a mod. JMO again.

Yes. Seriously. The mod was friends with some of the posters and even joined some of the chat groups they were on. Long story but many here are aware of it.

That's nothing new. Lots of moderators participate in the online communities they manage. They shouldn't show favoritism, but they do participate.

When it is against the rules? I am talking about mods, like on a commercial board, participating on private boards with chosen members of the public board?

That's what Deb explained. People were restarting poofed political threads so Webbie was poofing the new ones even though all the posts weren't bad.
