Hey tansy! I'm glad you like it!! I'm getting very low....ready for a new bottle. It really makes a difference when I blow dry and style.

The autumn chill has settled in here, leaves turning bright hues. I love this season.

Chili sounds yummy! I'm simmering some homemade potato soup, simple and sort of comforting. Y'all stay warm and cozy, now, y'hear?

It's the only soup I make that has no recipe, and it's a very basic southern dish. I'm not a good cook, unless I follow recipes to the letter. One of my grandmothers made this, just cubing potatoes and boiling 'til tender, mashing them, adding a bit of this and that. You can even use potatoes that were baked, just scoop them into the pot. I use a tiny bit of salt, lots of pepper, a little butter, minced garlic, grated onions, usually chicken bouillon. Sometimes a little milk or cream toward the end of cooking, a little shredded cheese on top (or even bacon crumbles) to garnish it. It varies. As I said, it's embarrassingly basic and clearly a comfort food.

Bacon's always a good idea, right?

I was just thinking a dollop of sour cream might be a nice garnish, too. Since calories and fat considerations are out the window.

I love potato soup ; In fact, potoes in any form. In fact, I haven't eaten tonight yet but a friend gave me some purple potatoes, maybe I'll cook a couple. This is poker night so I'm alone. thanks for the smile.
