Hi Gato - from DHS (press release link below has more info)

CDC is sending additional staff to each of the five airports. After passport review:

Travelers from Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone will be escorted by CBP to an area of the airport set aside for screening.
Trained CBP staff will observe them for signs of illness, ask them a series of health and exposure questions and provide health information for Ebola and reminders to monitor themselves for symptoms. Trained medical staff will take their temperature with a non-contact thermometer.
If the travelers have fever, symptoms or the health questionnaire reveals possible Ebola exposure, they will be evaluated by a CDC quarantine station public health officer. The public health officer will again take a temperature reading and make a public health assessment. Travelers, who after this assessment, are determined to require further evaluation or monitoring will be referred to the appropriate public health authority.
Travelers from these countries who have neither symptoms/fever nor a known history of exposure will receive health information for self-monitoring.

Not sure about what the enhanced screening consists of. There will be extra scrutiny I assume, so if anything happens the CDC can contact trace- maybe they'll have to provide an itinerary, phone numbers of contacts in the US, maybe temp monitoring?

According to the news, most were already going through these airports, now it's mandated. The world is so small now that you can't hide from diseases but must deal with them.

I read awhile ago they take their temp and have them fill out a questionnaire. Like they're all going to tell the truth on that? Ya, right.

I think they are doing the right thing by mandating this. It makes sense to have everyone at risk go through airports where consistent reliable monitoring is in place.

Experts have all said that sealing off those countries will only destabilize them and cause further spread of disease. I'm siding with the experts.

What are the 5 airports? (I only saw JFK mentioned about 5 times.)

I'm glad that they are doing this and HOMELAND SECURITY is involved also.

This disease is also spread by carelessness and more diligent means needs to be taken to protect others.

Some posters seems almost elated it finally made it to our shores as though we deserved it.

JFK, Washington-Dulles, Newark, Chicago-O’Hare, and Atlanta.

Yeah, that's the answer. Who cares if they take a temperature? So they do not look sick that day, we know they may be asymptomatic then but are infected with ebola. Also, Duncan didn't bother saying he had been around someone infected with ebola, did he? It tells them NOTHING! Also, I'm counting on all of these people to tell the truth about where they are heading and leaving their correct phone number. Right....kind of like the illegals that were supposed to report for "hearings" after being trucked all over this country this year. Yeah, that worked out real well. How many of them turned up for their hearings?? Do we know where all of them are? Did we keep track of them?
