Yahoo Mail Is A Big Mess

For several days now Yahoo mail has been having a terrible time I am so frustrated . Can't find out anything except lots of people are having a problem opening mail etc. I would change mail services but there are so many things I have coming into my Y. acct I really do not want to do that, any others having the same problems? . First they stopped the email alerts now this . !!!

I have Yahoo mail and not having any problem. Looks like we are both in So. Calif. nafecar so maybe it's just a local problem in your area?

Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

My ISP uses Yahoo for webmail and it's been messed up in one way or another for some time now. They remind me of the QVC website - every time they set out to 'fix' or 'improve' things they make it worse.

Same here. I will also add I HATE the "new" Yahoo mail. It drove me buggy. I disliked everything about it, mostly the way it linked emails into chains, which I did not always want. I changed back to "classic" Yahoo mail and am very happy with that.

Mine was offline for a while yesterday, but there was a message saying they were aware and were fixing it. It wasn't down long, and I didn't need it urgently.

Ordinarily I don't have any problems with it. I have adblocker and that gets rid of all the "dross", so it looks very clean and tidy and it works perfectly well. I wouldn't compare it to QVC; it doesn't have a font size issue, it doesn't have broken links and it works with every browser I've tried

Why not? I have a regular, paid-for email address that I use for more personal correspondence and don't want filled with junk, and I have a throw-away spam magnet address (yahoo) that I use whenever a site insists on having my email address. I used to use hotmail, but fell out with them for several reasons. So I use yahoo. It works for what I need it to do, so what's wrong with that?

I have even more issues with google (gmail) than I did with hotmail, so that's not on my list of options.

BeckiWV I also hate the ""new"" yahoo I can go back to the classic but when I go back to mail after I leave the site I have to do it all over again . Oh well just another tiny bump in the road !!!

Not sure why you ask that. I don't use it, but it's always ranked in the top five free email services and it's favored by many users.

So much would depend upon details, such as the type of phone, whether you're using a special app for the mail, etc. On my iPhone, I use the integrated mail system (not an app) and if my email has a problem the quickest, easiest fix is to delete the account in the settings and then re-establish it.

I stopped using my yahoo account last year after my email got hacked twice, both times sending spam/virus containing messages from my account to everyone in my address book. I get those type of malware infested messages from other yahoo users quite often. I now use gmail and haven't had any problems.

My hotmail got hacked, I had the hardest time getting it back because the Microsoft jerks I talked to were extremely unhelpful. That's why I went over to yahoo and haven't had problems there.

I had a stupidly easy to guess password (not as stupid as "password" or "123456", but still guessable) so it served me right. I chose a much harder password and haven't had problems since. I would call getting hacked a user issue, not a provider issue.

anyhoo...........when i had hotmail 10 years ago it was always hacked into and friends/family would tell me that they would get the strangest emails "from me" but they knew that i would never say or ask them things like that. i have had yahoo for even longer and hardly ever have a problem with it. i still get my email on my phone and i still get the notification of new emails.

I have a Yahoo address, but do not use it. The only thing I get there is junk mail. And, there is lots of that. Probably 57 a day or more. All I do once a week is empty out the junk mail. I don't know why those senders don't give up.

I have not had any trouble opening it up, but I don't live in CA.
