Wow for Amazon!

ordered 4 things on line at noon today. Just received notification that they have shipped and will be delivered tomorrow, Sunday. Hmm, maybe QVC should take note. Why would I order any name brand goods from QVC can and wait a week when I can get this kind of service from AmaZon?

it can be done......i ordered the carole hochman TSV the day that it was on special (fairly early in the morning) and i received the 3 piece set the next day.

I'm always in awe when I see these threads about Amazon's shipping. I shop Amazon for the variety, not for their prices, which aren't always among the best, and for the free shipping, which I've often found is often not the fastest... I ordered a number of items from Amazon weeks ago and am still waiting for some of them... Personally, I find department stores among the quickest to ship and deliver, and while QVC can be slow, I generally don't find them inordinately so... Amazon, on the other hand, seems to be so erratic and sometimes among the slowest to get orders to me... I look the other way because they don't charge me to ship most of what I order.

I ordered two things from Amazon on Saturday, last week, and didn't think I'd get them until Tuesday. They arrived on Monday.

I have Prime, which gives me 2 day delivery, and it never used to include Sundays. How do you get both next day delivery + Sunday?

I think it depends on whether the item comes directly from Amazon or from another party. My orders from Amazon always come quickly while orders made through Amazon but shipping from elsewhere can be much slower.

If you only order items that are "Fulfilled by Amazon" - not a "third party seller' - you'll get the fastest shipping possible, since Amazon has tons of warehouses all over the country.

Many of their third party sellers do have pretty fast delivery as well.

BTW, I've been fortunate to have had 9+ years experience with Amazon as a customer.

It depends on if there are warehouses near you, and if your local post office is now working with Amazon.

Prime also allows you to get next day delivery (on most items) for $3.99, which is awesome if there's a health and/or safety situation.

Thanks to all, but many of the items I order from Amazon are 'fulfilled by Amazon' and I still don't find shipping and receipt of items is consistently fast... I'm aware that 3rd parties can be slower, but overall haven't found them markedly so. I'm glad others have had better experiences, and believe me, it hasn't been dreadful, I just haven't always experienced the speed others have. No, I don't have Prime. Not paying extra, as more times than not, I'm not in a huge hurry, I was merely commenting on my Amazon experiences... I do like shopping Amazon for the vast array of products.

I've had good luck with Amazon shipping, and I love Prime. It's nice to get heavy or bulky items shipped to my house for free.

I have Amazon Prime, I always get my things 2 or 3 days later. Sometime I get my things the very next day......which borders on being spooky..lol. I have absolutely no problems with Q delivery times. If I take UPS, I get most things within 4 or 5 days. I usually take USPS delivery and that takes 5 or 6 days. I'm okay with it. It's not like I'm ordering life saving medication or something.

I have prime and order a lot from Amazon. The shipping time is great...BUT... I have received so many wrong items and also had 3 orders shipped to the wrong addresses - one of which was an address that I had sent a gift item to 4 years ago and had deleted!! They promptly made all of this right but it still shouldn't be happening!!

Totally agree.

We did a lot of major purchases this month in the way of furniture all off Amazon and Overstock.

Ordered on Wed..bed was literally delivered Friday morning...same with kitchen table..and then a chair that afternoon. UPS backed right up to my porch lol

I later ordered a sleigh bed and it took less then a week to be delivered. It was considered freight shipping and on a truck..still less then a week.

Oh and lets not forget FREE shipping and no the price was not jacked up to pay for it. I price shopped and compared all over for the item. Got the best price with an additional coupon and I joined Club O for five bucks and right now have over $150 in store credit.

If you order from 3rd party vendors off of Amazon then it will take longer... never ever had any problem with prime not showing up. I ordered several expensive dresses for my daughter's wedding not knowing which one I wanted..free returns and as soon as UPS scanned the return the credit showed that day.

I cannot imagine why people would shop these high prices shopping sites..they get sukked in by thinking the hosts and vendors are their friends ..with the high price S&H..somebody has to pay for the salaries and sets.

shop around and spend your money wisely.
