we have a little 15 year old chihuahua. she's tiny and frail and her poor little ears were getting very dry and stiff on the edges, almost to the point of feeling "crunchy". the last time we took her to the vet for her check-up we asked about it and the vet said they call it "leather ears" and that it is just something that comes with aging in dogs with thin ears.

one night recently when I was putting argan oil on my cuticles I decided to put some on her ears. it was an instant improvement. and now, after putting it on her ears for several evenings in a row her ears are soft and pliable and no longer feel dry and brittle. it's got to feel more comfortable for her now, and since she likes having her ears rubbed anyway she's a happy little camper.

Definitely let her vet know, and they'll be able to pass the tip onto others. 8)
