His donation of 25 million to fight ebola sounded awesome to some, until you read that he dropped a cool 100 million for a land deal on Kauai. 25 million=a drop in the bucket to him.

I don't care what he spent on a land deal or anything else - he gave $25 million to this epidemic, and I'm grateful.

I don't think he's that great, either, but he sure has stepped up to the plate when it was needed.

He also follows quite a bit of the path carved out by Bill Gates, which is giving and giving. Neither one of them talk much about it, but they give. That's more than a lot of others do. This is a global crisis, everyone should help out, especially those who can afford it..

I hope Zuckerberg and all the other wealthy donors who contribute to modernizing West Africa's hospitals, labs and clinics, get a full accounting of every dollar spent! After 38 years, it darn well better be the fix this time! This is not the first time that money has been thrown to fix the ebola problem.

ITA! How does the OP think wealth is grown? Intelligent, lucrative investments so that a $25 million "drop in the bucket" can eventually grow into a river of donations and solutions to so many of the world's ills.

I can only imagine what that kind of grant can do and lead to in the future.

Hopefully, it's going to research. Bill Gates said his $50 million was going for research, and Gates is Zuckerberg's mentor.

Geez $25M is a lot of money for a country like that.

It seems like that money alone could take away the poverty, build homes and schools and hospitals and bring in fresh drinking water....for generations. Once these things are in place.....

Ebola could be cured and these people would still be suffering....

It's not for the country. It's for Ebola research and treatment, both of which would also benefit Americans.
