I'm not a very discerning tea drinker, so when I don't want to brew a whole pot of tea I just put a bag in a cup and use the hot water from the Keurig. I still prefer brewed tea though. (I also prefer my coffee dripped or brewed, but I wouldn't be without my Keurig for its convenience.

Can anyone recommend a plain old black tea for the Keurig? I love English and Irish breakfast tea in the a.m. I like Red Rose tea in the afternoon and evening but apparently RR doesn't make a K-cup in their regular black tea. I tried a Lipton one (Indulge) but it's pre-sweetened with caramel - ok but not what I'm looking for. Anyone know of a great plain black tea?

Good idea to just use the Keurig for hot water - I'm going to try that right now. Does using a tea bag in the K-cup holder make the tea strong enough? Thanks - great ideas!

I usually just use a tea bag in a cup and dispense hot water.I stock up on k cups when Bi-lohas their awesome sale that comes to $5 per box iand one off you buy 5 boxes. I buy these braands twinings English Breakfast, tazo English Breakfast, and one of my favorite brands... republic of tea English Breakfast (marshalls and Amazon). My favorite tea bag brand is Ahmad. I like their English Breakfast,Irish breakfast, and Special tea #1. I also buy Yorkshire Gold brand at TJ Maxx. I love tea and rarely drink coffee anymore. Lipton does make a plain black tea k-cup. I see them at Target.

I've tried a lot of them and think Twinings English Breakfast black tea is the best. Really though, I prefer tea bags or loose tea. I don't think a tea bag would work in the Keurig because it wouldn't be steeped.

For hot tea, I usually just put the tea bag in the hot water, the same as I've always done with tea bags. For iced tea, I stuff two tea bags in the Keurig and fill a 16-oz plastic cup with ice and brew the tea directly into the cup of ice using the 8-oz setting.

Putting a regular tea bag into hot water is both more cost effective and more environmentally sound.
