Thanks for letting me know I so appreciate your posts on the subject, trying to calm the situation. And why your state's borders are under attack is surprising. A simple line in the sand isn't going to stop anything.

Thanks Noel. It was rough last night but I survived.

Closing the borders - can you imagine??? By the time enough personnel were put in place there would already be a mass exodus. (Worst case scenario - kind of like Hollywood).

You're doing well. There's so much misinformation going around, but if you say anything opposing that, it can get out of hand.

Exactly. Yet there have been posters who suggest closing the US borders and closing the borders to the infected countries.

I've brought up closing the borders to states where there have been confirmed Ebola cases as a response to those wanting to ban flights from the affected West African countries. From which there are no direct flights to or from the United States. It doesn't make sense to me to do one without doing the other.

Ive been following this topic here for a couple of days. I haven't seen anyone serious about it at all. Any rational person knows it's an irrational solution to the problem.

Exactly. Thus the suggestion that we constrict the freedom of others closer to home.

Neither is the name calling- libs, bleeding hearts, bullies. Yet, I don't see the complaints about that.

Satire is highly useful. And in this case, very appropriate.

Agreed scottie and someone suggesting we close all the borders of Texas to the rest of America is not satire nor funny.

Satire is highly useful. And in this case, very appropriate.

Satire is a well respected form of commentary and often used as a teaching tool.

Noel, in the beginning many in the general population did think that. I remember it. Then transfusions....remember Ryan White and Elton John? That was the total eye-opener for many right there. That AIDS wasn't limited to a certain population. I personally think the professionals were ignored in the beginning because it was more "comfortable" to do so.
