I made a complete fool of myself at CVS today - the pharmicist was a real cutie. He came out to greet us, I looked at his nametag and said "Hi, Ho."

He replied: "My name is Ha".

Time for new glasses.

Tansy: It was the easiest flu shot we ever had. Just a tad sore now but last year - holy moly - I ached for days and it hurt like the dickens when she did it.

Ha was really good.

Ha ha... And I still haven't gotten my flu shot. The GP I go to now, doesn't offer them, so I'll probably get mine at Costco.

I lucked out today. Went to my doctor for a routine visit. She asked me if I wanted a flu shot. I usually decline because I get them free at work, except work doesn't offer the 65+ vaccine, which she wanted me to have. She assured me my insurance would pay for it because I have diabetes. (I have Medicare but since I'm still working my HMO is primary and I'd thought they wouldn't pay for it). Yay! Slightly sore arm, that's all.

DH said he didn't feel his flu shot at all. If it wasn't for the band-aid, and the sore arm next day, he'd have thought they scammed him.

I did OK with not touching mine, but my 35lb puppy didn't get the memo. Ow.

Hi raven: Honestly I'm not keen on it, only having had the flu twice in my lifetime.

But I still do it. Your choice.

I get the flu shot not just for my own protection but for others I come in contact with.

I had the trivalent without preservatives today at the clinic inside Walgreens. The other Walgreens without clinics also administer them but they looked too busy to be bothered. I liked the private room and the ability to ask questions without being overheard. This is my first flu shot in over 10 years I believe, after having a bad reaction I had said never again. In that 10 years I only got sick once but have to take my stepmom to many dr visits over the coming months (she never gets the flu vaccine and never gets sick) and I don't like going to dr offices during flu season. Hope it protects me but I know that its effacacy is only around 60%. Should satisfy all the nudges and kevetchers. (not talking about you cakers or anyone thus far on this thread).
