Hello my friends! Today's blessings - 1) Got my hair cut and colored right here at home, 2)D Darla called this morning and we talked a long time! 3) Linus and his brother and friend, Ron, got things settled as to how they will move a shed to Lori's yard - it's a 8 by 12 I think, so friends, please pray that everything goes well in moving this shed for her back yard - that nothing goes wrong, it's about 45 minutes away - please help us pray that it moves smoothly and that nothing goes wrong. It's an old shed, cost her $350.00 but it'd be much, much more to build one. Thanks in advance for your prayers. Remember that you all are in my prayers, too.

It is important to remember that different can be better. Lord, as I resist

change

and cling to the familiar, help me to remember that Your plan is perfect and

will

truly make me happy.

Meditation for the day:

When we look to God for strength to face responsibility and are quiet

before God, God's healing touch can cause the divine quiet to flow

into our very being. When in weakness we cry to God, God's touch can

bring healing, the renewal of our courage, and the power to meet every

situation and be victorious. When we faint by the way or are

distracted by feelings of inferiority, then we can rely on the touch

of God's spirit to support us on our way. Then we can arise and go

forth with confidence.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may lay myself open today to the healing touch of God.

I pray that I may not falter or faint by the wayside, but renew my

courage through prayer.

EVERYDAY PRAYER

Let us pray to Jesus Christ along with the intercession of Holy Mother Mary,

in union with the saints.

"Jesus, I entrust all my problems to you. Come to me. Speak to me. Reveal

the will of God to me. Deliver me from dangers and diseases (names). Jesus!

Pour your precious blood on me. Remove all the stain of sin from me. Grant

me freely, redemption from sin and salvation by the merit of the crucifixion

and glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ. Deliver me from satanic bondages,

evil desire, wick ed men and temptations of the devil. Save me by the merit

of your suffering. Jesus, send upon me, in power, the Holy Spirit, promised

by the Father. Renew me, and my dear ones by the Holy Spirit. Thank you God.

Praise you Jesus. Praise you Holy Spirit." Amen.

DO YOU CARRY YOUR UMBRELLA?

We all have something to learn from this young girl.

As a drought continued for what seemed an eternity, a small community

of farmers was in a quandary as to what to do. Rain was important to

keep their crops healthy and sustain the townspeople' s way of life.

As the problem became more acute, a local pastor called a prayer

meeting to ask for rain.

Many people arrived. The pastor greeted most of them as they filed in.

As he walked to the front of the church to officially begin the

meeting he noticed most people were chatting across the aisles and

socializing with friends. When he reached the front his thoughts were

on quieting the attendees and starting the meeting.

His eyes scanned the crowd as he asked for quiet. He noticed an eleven

year-old girl sitting quietly in the front row. Her face was beaming

with excitement. Next to her, poised and ready for use, was a bright

red umbrella. The little girl's beauty and innocence made the pastor

smile as he realized how much faith she possessed. No one else in the

congregation

had brought an umbrella.

All came to pray for rain, but the little girl had come expecting God

to answer.

"I prefer the monotony of obscure sacrifice to all ecstasies. To pick up a

pin for love can convert a soul." These are the words of Thérèse of the

Child Jesus, a Carmelite nun called the "Little Flower," who lived a

cloistered life of obscurity in the convent of Lisieux, France. (In

French-speaking areas, she is known as Thérèse of Lisieux.) And her

preference for hidden sacrifice did indeed convert souls. Few saints of God

are more popular than this young nun. Her autobiography, The Story of a

Soul, is read and loved throughout the world. Thérèse Martin entered the

convent at the age of 15 and died in 1897 at the age of 24. She was

canonized in 1925, and two years later she and St. Francis Xavier were

declared co-patrons of the missions.

Life in a Carmelite convent is indeed uneventful and consists mainly of

prayer and hard domestic work. But Thérèse possessed that holy insight that

redeems the time, however dull that time may be. She saw in quiet suffering

redemptive suffering, suffering that was indeed her apostolate. Thérèse said

she came to the Carmel convent "to save souls and pray for priests." And

shortly before she died, she wrote: "I want to spend my heaven doing good on

earth."

On October 19, 1997, Saint John Paul II proclaimed her a Doctor of the

Church, the third woman to be so recognized, in light of her holiness and

the influence on the Church of her teaching on spirituality. Her parents,

Louis and Zélie were beatified in 2008.

Comment:

Thérèse has much to teach our age of the image, the appearance, the "sell."

We have become a dangerously self-conscious people, painfully aware of the

need to be fulfilled, yet knowing we are not. Thérèse, like so many saints,

sought to serve others, to do something outside herself, to forget herself

in quiet acts of love. She is one of the great examples of the gospel

paradox that we gain our life by losing it, and that the seed that falls to

the ground must die in order to live (John 12:24).

Preoccupation with self separates modern men and women from God, from their

fellow human beings, and ultimately from themselves. We must relearn to

forget ourselves, to contemplate a God who draws us out of ourselves, and to

serve others as the ultimate expression of selfhood. These are the insights

of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, and they are more valid today than ever.

All her life St. Thérèse suffered from illness. As a young girl she

underwent a three-month malady characterized by violent crises, extended

delirium and prolonged fainting spells. Afterwards she was ever frail and

yet she worked hard in the laundry and refectory of the convent.

Psychologically, she endured prolonged periods of darkness when the light of

faith seemed all but extinguished. The last year of her life she slowly

wasted away from tuberculosis. And yet shortly before her death on September

30 she murmured, "I would not suffer less."

Truly she was a valiant woman who did not whimper about her illnesses and

anxieties. Here was a person who saw the power of love, that divine alchemy

which can change everything, including weakness and illness, into service

and redemptive power for others. Is it any wonder that she is patroness of

the missions? Who else but those who embrace suffering with their love

really convert the world?

THE FOUR TYPES OF HEALING

There are six areas of a person's life which may get afflicted and where

healing is required. They are Mind, Body, Soul, Family, Wealth and Satanic

Afflictions /Ancestral Bondage.

a) Instant Healing - During Adoration and Healing Mass in the presence of

the Eucharistic Lord and during the Eucharistic Procession, healings take

place by the infilling of the Holy Spirit instantly, if that be the Will of

God.

The same experience also takes place during the Holy Mass. Here the healing

takes place instantly and completely.

b) Progressive Healing - In progressive healing, (over a period of time as

per His Holy Will and in His Time) the healing is started but not yet

completed; instead it is in progression; stage by stage for the benefit of

the afflicted and culminating in complete healing, by His Grace and Mercy,

after sometime.

c) Gift of Joyful Suffering- If the healing is not taken place as per the

Will of God, the person is blessed and strengthened to joyfully accept the

suffering without any kind of discomfort or complaints or any hindrance to

his life or activities. It is for the salvation of souls.

d) Immunity - Where a person is attending a Healing Mass or a healing

prayer; even though he is absolutely healthy and does not require any

healing in his physical body; is strengthened with immunity against any

affliction bothering now or in the future. This protection from all

afflictions in six areas of a person's life is called immunity. This

immunity is one type of advanced healing.

BROWNIE CRUMBS

Mrs. Baughman was my 6th grade Sunday School teacher. One morning, she

brought a pan of brownies to our class. As the goodies sat over by her

chair, she gave each child a slip of paper marked with a household

expense:

house payment, utility bill, phone bill, entertainment, etc.

My slip had a car payment. Before long, Mrs. Baughman picked up the

tray of brownies and began naming the expenses written on the papers.

As we gave her our expenses, she redeemed each one for a brownie.

"Car payment" she announced. I jumped up to get my brownie from the

pan. Finally the last brownie had disappeared.

But one boy named Donald still held his unredeemed slip. "God!" called

Mrs. Baughman. Donald came forward hoping the teacher had one more

brownie hidden some where.

With a knife Mrs. Baughman scraped the crumbs from the bottom of the

pan into Donald's napkin. He got a pretty raw deal, I thought -just

crumbs.

"The brownies represent your money", the teacher explained to us. "If

you don't give God his share right away, He probably won't get

anything except maybe the crumbs."

I never forgot that illustration. The day my friend Donald got only

the brownie crumbs, even as a child I learned that God should have the

first right to everything I have.

In the years since Mrs. Baughman class I have struggled with giving

and priorities, But whenever I recall the "Crummy Sunday School

Lesson", I know who should and must always come first in my life!

The Holy Spirit is the inspirer of all prayer. All through the centuries

the prayer life of Christians has been lived under the influence of the Holy

Spirit. Many of the well-known prayers of the Saints, hallowed by use and

set down in print, have been of inestimable value in the spiritual lives of

countless millions of Christians. The Spirit, too, is alive in our times

and many contemporary prayers speak to the soul of modern man. This is all

the work of the Holy Spirit.

When life has lost its luster and it's filled with dull routine, when you

long to run away from it,

seeking pastures new and green, remember no one runs away from life without

finding when they do,

that life's problems go there with you no matter what you do.

So when your heart is heavy and your day is dull with care, instead of

trying to escape, why not withdraw to God in prayer?

For in prayer there is renewal of the spirit, mind, and heart, for

everything is lifted up in which God has a part........

For when we go to God in prayer, our thoughts are

rearranged, so even though our problems have not been solved or changed,

somehow the good Lord gives us the power to understand, that He who holds

tomorrow is also the one who holds our hands.

Good morning everyone,

Amen!

Gloriajean, prayed last night and this morning for the moving of the shed. They'll be in my thoughts today. I know they will be relieved when it's all over with.

Harlene, our weekend will be turning cooler after this front moves through today. Talking about being in the 40's here. Hope you have a blessed day.

Yesterday, I finished mowing what my son couldn't get done. So today, I want to get out and do some more outside work. The forcast here...rain moving in with a cold front, which will most likely produce thunderstorms. I sure hope everyone has a great day full of blessings. A blessing that I am always grateful for...waking up in the morning, and putting my feet on the ground, and enjoying a good cup of coffee.
