Ford: So that poster wasn't banned? Doesn't matter who it was, btw. I also think some posters are not bothering because they can no longer keep up old history around here. And that's a good thing.

We will always see some remarks that are cringe-worthy, but overall, it must be up to the ptb to determine and that is always subjective on their part.

In a long column of replies, it's sometimes difficult to know who said what. 'They' probably thought that you, O/P, were the 'culprit'.

If you follow standards to the letter you should have nothing to worry about. Of course that is not always easy to do. Especially since they are enforced haphazardly.

No Romary, I had one or two replies, the post was poofed and I was banned. I don't think it was on the BB more than two minutes.

Only one poster used the banned word (and it's a new banned word) and I don't know if she was banned or not, in fact, I can't even remember who it was.

All I know is I was shocked, as I have been posting here two years or more longer than my info states since I had to change my username because of their problems with usernames and passwords several years ago. I only changed one letter of my username, from a small "f" to a capital "F" in Ford1224. I had over 3,000 posts at the time, but they restarted my posts to "0," as I think they did with a lot of users at the time. It was a glitch of theirs, which had nothing to do with us.

Even after all that time, they banned me for practically nothing. So there's no loyalty in exchange for loyalty, and I feel I could be banned permanently (which was threatened) at any time for anything.

So I guess I'd better shut up now.

Ford: If you are banned again, for no legitimate reason, I would just cancel your nic, and start up a new one. I've not done that yet (wouldn't know how), but if I had to, I would (find out how).

Well, it makes me sad that there is a "new banned word" and we're all ignorant of it, well, except for you Ford!

A list of banned words might be nice to have. Forewarned is forearmed.

Hello Ford1224,

It would be nice if there are words that they let slip by their "censorship" were posted on their Community Standards. Seems like there are innocent words were placed side by side are banned, but I see no list that says what is and what is not banned. When I put in certain words it will not let me post it without removing them. Many times even after I remove them, I still cannot reply to a thread so I just "cancel" the whole thing.

I don't get being banned, especially if you were not the one using the word. And moreover, I do not see getting banned when this Bulletin Board has the ability to add words/combination of words or phrased from even being posted. There have been a lot of things that even I saw as being pretty nasty, and I think I am more liberal than the ladies when it comes to those things.

Hey, you managed to put up with me for a long time as not being one of your favorites. That fortunately is in the past, but if there is anything I can do to alleviate you fear, please don't hesitate to ask.

As many years as I've been around here I would like to think I understand their processes when it comes to running this Bulletin Board, but I would be lying if I said that I did. I was a moderator on a few Bulletin Boards for several years and those that visited those BB knew what was and what was not acceptable. For those that didn't, I told them along with warning them, and then if they did not comply with those rules? They were gone.

Hope you recovered fairly well from your experience the other day with Comcast. That whole thing seemed so unnecessary to me. I saw no reason why a tech representative wouldn't know when there is Network problem as opposed to 1 customer having an equipment issue.
