I see no reason to be on my phone in a public area. I do not want to hear other people's conversation so I do not use mine inside a building. If I need to make or take a call, I go into the hall or outside. Everywhere I go people are talking loudly on their phone, it makes me nuts!

I have never talked on my cell phone in a restaurant, although I have answered a text message. I did use my cell phone in the hospital lobby yesterday to call my husband, so he would know where to find me, as we waited on a patient to come out of surgery. I rarely use my phone for the purpose of actually talking.

It is only rude if the person is shouting into the phone. Otherwise, it is just another conversation between 2 people, that you overhear in a restaurant.

It would be on a rare occasion for me to use my cell phone in public. There's not much that irritates me more than standing in line in a grocery store, or a department store, a bank, restaurant, wherever, and having to listen to someone's conversation. There is enough noise in the world, I would appreciate people being courteous enough not to invade my little bit of space with their unending need to be on a phone.

If I or DH get a call while in a restaurant we answer and walk outside to talk. If there is some one that has been talking very loudly on a phone I have my husband call my # and when I answer I loudly say " I am going outside to talk to you so I don't disturb anyone"

I shop in a few boutiques and consignment stores that have a sign on the door to please not talk on the phone while in the store. One sign actually says, we do not want to hear about your vacation, your children, your grand children, your job or how important you are so please do not talk on your phone in the store.

I don't mind the talkers that do not feel the need to yell and do not feel the need for everyone to hear their conversation.

Vet said while she was explaining to their client about the dog or cat--client would answer the phones and talk. People have gone off the charts with their cellphones.

I can't remember the last time I talked on my cell phone. If I remember correctly it was to call the power company when our power went out, and that was months ago. Since then I have dug out my old phone that plugs right into a phone wall jack now I don't even need my cell phone.

People that talk/text incessantly on cell phones have an addiction and some day they may come around to realizing it. Maybe even before they have to join CPA and take the steps necessary to relearn, how to live life without something they were not born with, attached to their ears and fingers.

No I don't. Once my husband and I were eating at Panera Bread and a man was speaking so loudly on his cell phone that it totally ruined my meal. I don't know what these people are thinking. They obviously aren't thinking or don't care. I gave him a "look" but he ignored it.

I hate being in stores and hear people blabbing their life stories away too. One day I was in Target, and a woman was giving very personal details about a situation she was going through and fighting with someone on her cell. I had to leave that area in the store and come back to it later lol.

I had a gig running a small, individually-owned, shop. Often people would cruise into the shop with a phone on their ear yapping away. As soon as I saw this I would just back away from the counter. I figured I'd help them when they were done.

One such person gave me the 'uh, would you help me?' look and I just said 'I'd be happy to assist you as soon as you are finished with your phone call' and I stayed back until that time came.

It just got irksome trying to help people who couldn't let the, 99.999% of the time ridiculously frivolous, phone conversation go and expected people to help them in an area where you had to ask them questions, tell them stuff, etc, and you never knew if they were talking to you or the person on the phone. RUDE!!!

Only when necessary or when alone. And no shouting.
