It happened just now. Always makes me laugh. (Of course I'm polite and say "sorry you have a wrong number".

We have a phone number that is easliy mis dialed. We get puppy calls, car calls all kinds of calls people thinking we have something to sell.

I once had a male caller ask what my hourly rates were. When I said "excuse me?" he asked if this was the xxxx motel & I said "no." He aplogized & hung up. I looked up the motel's phone number in the book (the old days, when we had city directories) & found that their number was 1 digit different from mine. I laughed about that all night. Maybe it was a missed opporunity?

We constantly get calls to make an appointment for a haircut.

Sometimes I just want to set up the appointment to make the same 2 or 3 stop calling

Son has a cell phone with an area code difference to a pizza parlor. To this day (over 8 yrs now) he gets the occasional call to order a pizza! Once when he was younger he took the order from the person. I bet he was surprised when he went to pick it up!

A friend has a number close to Toys R Us. Christmas season her phone never stops ringing.

When I was a kid I kept getting obscene calls for my older sister. I didn't even know what they meant. (my sister was away in college)

He asked me my name, and innocent me thought he was looking for a babysitter, so I gave him my first name.

Then he started calling for me. This went on for several calls!

I told my mom, of course-- and we were advised (by the local police) to put an old fashioned whistle by the phone and whistle loudly into the phone when he called the next time.

One day, I heard the phone ring, and my mom answered-- next thing I knew, the whistle sounded.

We never heard from him again.

I wonder if that is the advice the police would give today?

My cousin used to have a number similar to the taxi. She would get calls from drunks asking for a ride. Finally she got fed up and told them it was coming.

When I was living at home I had a woman call to tell me she had left her panties in my husbands car and could I find them for her. I was young and living with my dad. I said sure, what color are they, what brand, what size, there were several in the wash right now and I needed to know which one was hers because none of them were mine. She hung up on me! Dad had an absolute giggle fit over that when he got home. He was dating at the time, but he said ... never in the car!

Speaking of Jimmy Johns, I saw last night they are the latest victims of hacking. So if anyone used a credit or debit at Jimmy Johns, be on the look out.
