topic Sensitivity in Community Chat

I slept on it… but decided to speak out and here I am.

Yesterday it was bad enough that a derogatory racial term was “discussed” in a thread but then two posters felt it necessary to arbitrarily slur another group in order to make a point I guess – on a religious holiday no less.

I’m sure there are many bigots on these boards. I think a lot of posters ASSUME that everyone who posts here is of the same group therefore, they can say what they wish about other groups.

I would ask that these people make a concerted effort to learn to be more sensitive to people of different groups or beliefs or at the very least, keep your bigotries to yourselves. It is not a good human trait to characterize or stereotype religious or ethnic groups. We are all people.

My sincere apologies to anyone who may have been offended by the insensitive remarks and phrases posted yesterday. I know I was.
