I am considering adopting a new dog into the family. I have been doing some Shepherd research and I see that they are huge shedders, known to shed year round. Of course, any dog that we would consider bringing home would be a house dog, that goes without saying. I have some experience with major shedders as our first dog together was a pure-bred Husky that was supposed to 'blow coat' twice a year. Well, the truth of the matter was that he shed constantly and I would go to work each day wearing half of my dog! It pretty much drove me nuts, even though we loved him to death and he lived out his entire life with us.

For me, the shedding might be the game changer. As I haven't taken the next step yet and actually met any potentialy adoptable candidates, I would really like to have the unbiased thoughts of any GS owners out there. Thanks, GS owners.

They are a beautiful breed.
