I have an aquaintance, with a legally blind husband, and they had a wonderful service dog for him. They are poor, but when my MOM died, they made a donation to our local animal group when she died, as she wanted no flowers, only donations to humane sociey, or a charity of your choice in her name. They live around me. I met this dog at the funeral home at the death of a family members wake. He was such a wonderful dog. I have come in contact with him on numerous times. My problem is that, although a great service dog for this person, who I agree needs a guide, is that they did not maintain this dog to the extent that he needed for this specialized training. I have worked with many service animals, and not just dogs, and they allowed this dog to and did not try to stop him, to kill chickens and other animals that he was arround. He lost his ability to do the job he was trained to do, and It was not his fault, they made him a pet, and allowed too much. He no longer became a service dog. He is now living with a family and is cared for and has become fat and sassy. Good for him!!! My problem is that now, they have another service dog, that came out of PA, and she is very well trained, and I understand, that this person is getting older and needs more help. I just am having a hard time with a fact they have another dog, and well trained, and am thinking about the amount of money for such needed dogs, but have a fear that they are going to do the same to this dog. I saw and talked to them at Wal-mart, and the wife just stated that this one is obviously a female, as she is just a b--ch and too protective. Am I wrong that people should not continue to get service animals, when they are not cared for porperly, and they change the animal form service dog, that they are trained for, and make them into yard dog?

Please do not bash me for my feelings, I just want to know how other people feel. There are just sooooo many people out ther that benefit from these animals, and these animals help them to live productive lives. I have worked with dogs for the Delta Society, and know what good they provide for the owners. Feedback please, but not to bash me if that is your intentions. I am in the middle of a rescue situation, and yes I am the one who is on a plight to save Wolves
