Unhappiness within comes out in an emotional reaction, unlike the happy person
who is slow to anger. Lord, help me to glow in Your presence so that the heat of
the moment doesn't get to me.

Scripture for the day:

"The effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness,
quietness and trust forever." ~Isaiah 32:17

Meditation for the day:

"The effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness,
quietness and trust forever." Only when the soul attains this calm, can
there be true spiritual work done, and mind and soul and body be strong to
conquer and bear all things. Peace is the result of righteousness. There
is no peace in wrong doing, but if we live the way God wants us to live,
quietness and assurance can follow. Assurance is that calmness born of a
deep certainty of God's strength available to us and in God's power to love
and guard us from all harm and wrong doing.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may attain a state of true calmness. I pray that I may live
in quietness and peace.

Hello my friends!! Quietness and Peace is a wonderful way to live, don't you agree?? How was your day? Another ordinary day for me - but got a call from Darla in Texas saying she's driving home for Father's Day, so that was a blessing! She is busy with doing research papers and the Saturday before Father's Day she has an apt. at the U of M in Mpls. with the man she has teamed up with for doing the papers, he was her teacher and now he's on the same level, and he's always been her help. She's stay until the 4th of July.
Lori is leaving in the morning for Ohio for a Massage Seminar on Myofascial Release - maybe the third seminar on this - learning and learning more and more. She's getting a ride to the airport with Aaron - the friend of hers in the wheelchair - quad plegic. He drives all over and offered to take her. Her computer at work had many viruses in it, and she took it to her friend's nephew's place and wow! only $40.00! I think I paid $160 for mine to get a virus out.

Homily of the Day

June 9, 2011

To Become Perfect Is to Have Changed Often!
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.

Acts 22:30; 23:6-11 / Jn 17:20-26

Several interesting patterns have shown themselves as we’ve read through the Acts of the Apostles these past seven weeks. On the one hand, there’s the joy that so many people experience as they come to know the Good News of Jesus, and on the other, there’s the anger and violence with which so many react to the preaching of this same Good News.

Why are the reactions so very different from people of similar backgrounds? The answer lies inside, in the fear-driven rigidity and brittleness of the one group and in the hope-driven confidence and openness of the other.

Long ago, Cardinal Newman said that to grow is to change and to become perfect is to have changed often. True enough, but wholesome growth and change are possible only for those who have solid roots in God, the ground of our being. Fear stifles growth and allows only one kind of action, and that is attack.

Don’t waste your life being angry and defending the indefensible. Let faith open your inner doors to the Spirit who brings growth, change, and joy.

MAKE YOUR LIFE HAPPY

MAKE UP YOUR MIND TO BE HAPPY.
Learn to find pleasure in simple things.

MAKE THE BEST OF YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES.
No one has everything, and everyone has something of sorrow intermingled with gladness of life. The trick is to make the laughter outweigh the tears.

DON'T TAKE YOURSELF TOO SERIOUSLY.
Don´t think that somehow you should be protected from misfortune that befalls other people.

YOU CAN'T PLEASE EVERYBODY.
Don´t let criticism worry you.

DON'T LET YOUR NEIGHBOUR SET YOUR STANDARDS.
Be yourself.

NEVER BORROW TROUBLE.
Do the things you enjoy doing but stay out of debt. Imaginary things are harder to bear than real ones.

AVOID PEOPLE WHO MAKE YOU UNHAPPY.
Since hate poisons the soul, do not cherish jealousy, enmity, grudges.

HAVE MANY INTERESTS.
If you can´t travel, read about new places.

DON'T HOLD POSTMORTEMS.
Don´t spend your time brooding over sorrows or mistakes. Don´t be one who never gets over things.

DON'T SHOW PRIDE WHEN YOU GET VICTORY.
After the resurrection Jesus did not reveal Himself before Pilate or Herodotus or the High Priests, who were torturing, crucifying and sealing the sepulchre; but revealed Himself before His own Disciples and those who believed in Him.

DO WHAT YOU CAN FOR THOSE LESS FORTUNATE THAN YOURSELF.
Blessed is he that considereth the poor; the Lord will deliver him in the time of trouble (Ps 41:1).

KEEP BUSY AT SOMETHING.
A busy person never has time to be unhappy.

DON'T WORRY.
Be happy.

AND THE LAST; BUT NOT LEAST - TO KNOW LASTING HAPPINESS, GET TO KNOW THE LOVE OF ETERNAL GOD PERSONALLY.

Two Men In A Hospital

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was
allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the
fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other
man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on
end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their
involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.
And every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he
would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could
see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those
one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the
activity and color of the world outside. The window overlooked a park with a
lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their
model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color of
the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the
city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window
described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the
room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.
One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by.
Although the other man couldn't hear the band - he could see it in his
mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive
words. Days and weeks passed.
One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to
find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in
his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the
body away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could
be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and
after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully,
he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world
outside. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it for himself. He
strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a
blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased
roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The
nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She
said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."

Epilogue. . .There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite
our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when
shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just Count all of the things
you have that money can't buy. "Today is a gift, that's why it is called the
present."

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE POOR

One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to
the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people
can be.
They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be
considered a very poor family.

On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was
the trip?" "It was great, Dad." "Did you see how poor people can be?"
the father asked. "Oh Yeah" said the son. "So what did you learn from
the trip?" asked the father.

The son answered, "I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We
have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek
that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the
stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole
horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields
that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve
others.
We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property
to protect us,they have friends to protect them."
With this the boy's father was speechless. Then his son added,
"Thanks dad for showing me how poor we are."

Too many times we forget what we have and concentrate on what we
don't have. What is one person's worthless object is another's prize
possession.
It is all based on one's perspective. Makes you wonder what would happen
if we all gave thanks for all the bounty we have, instead of worrying about
wanting more. Take joy in all you have, especially your friends.

WHAT DO ANGELS LOOK LIKE?
Author Unknown

Like the little old lady who returned your wallet yesterday.

Like the taxi driver who told you that your eyes light up the world,
when you smile.

Like the small child who showed you the wonder in simple things.

Like the poor man who offered to share his lunch with you.

Like the rich man who showed you that it really is all possible, if
only you believe.

Like the stranger who just happened to come along, when you had lost
your way.

Like the friend who touched your heart, when you didn't think you had
one.

Angels come in all sizes and shapes, all ages and skin types.

Some with freckles, some with dimples, some with wrinkles, some
without.

They come disguised as friends, enemies teachers, students, lovers
and fools.

They don't take life too seriously, they travel light.

They leave no forwarding address, they ask nothing in return.

They are hard to find when your eyes are closed, but when you choose
to see, they are everywhere you look.

So, open you eyes and count all your Angels -- for you are truly
blessed!

Patience

Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness. Colossians 1:11 KJV

Patience and contentment are very closely related. While contentment frees us from murmuring and complaining, patience frees us from fretting and striving. A contented heart will bring forth thankfulness, and a patient heart will bring forth calmness. You will have a quiet heart when contentment and patience are abiding within.

Patience is the result of a life that is submitted to God’s will. We become impatient when we replace God’s timetable with our own. It has been said, “With God, timing is more important than time.” God doesn’t need to hurry up or catch up, because His timing is always perfect. When we become impatient we want to change our circumstances and make things fit into our own schedule. This can quickly open the door to anger and frustration if things don’t work out the way we want them to.

Impatience is a fruit of the flesh, while patience is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. How do we live in patience? It does not come by following a formula or by counting to ten. Patience is produced and maintained in us when we allow the power and presence of the Holy Spirit to be in control of our lives. The patience produced by the Holy Spirit will quiet our hearts. The patience of the Holy Spirit does not produce heaviness or frustration, but joyfulness. The patience of the Holy Spirit frees us from the strife of wanting things to go our way, according to our clock and calendar.

Patience is a peaceable fruit of righteousness and is a beautiful work of the Spirit when we see it operating within us and in the lives of others. Today, let the music of the Holy Spirit sing out in your heart, “In Your time, Lord, You make all things beautiful in Your time.”

Mother Teresa Said...
The fullness of our heart is expressed in our eyes, in our touch, in what we write, in what we say, in the way we walk, the way we receive, the way we need. That is the fullness of our heart expressing itself in many different ways.

Novena of Confidence to the Sacred Heart

O Lord Jesus Christ, to Your Most Sacred Heart I confide this intention (Here mention your request).
Only look upon me, then do what Your Heart inspires ...Let Your Sacred Heart decide ...I count on it ...I trust in it ...I throw myself on its Mercy ...

Lord Jesus, You will not fail me. Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in You. Sacred Heart of Jesus, I believe in Your Love for me. Sacred Heart of Jesus, Your Kingdom Come. O Sacred Heart of Jesus I have asked for many favours, but I earnestly implore this one. Take it, place it in Your Sacred Heart. When the Eternal Father sees it covered with Your Precious Blood, He will not refuse it. It will be no longer my prayer but Yours. O Jesus, O Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in You. Let me never be confounded. Amen.

Good night everyone - Sweet Dreams and may you all have many blessings throughout your day!! God bless you all!!
