Think we got 4" of rain during the night. Cloudy and looking like more rain today. Don't check weather reports, just look out and prognosticate the weather myself. Think I do pretty well in comparison.

I got an e-mail from a friend who's on a trip out west. She's going to Mt Rushmore tomorrow. They're supposed to get three inches of ""wons""! She said that the locals said that's a bit early for them.

Rain, rain and more rain. Thankfully no thunder or lightning and I was able to get my workout in the pool done this morning (the Y requires that the pool be closed if there's thunder/lightning within 10 miles). The local weather prognosticators have been wetting themselves with excitement over the past few days at the idea that we were going to have severe weather. Now they're almost visibly pouting because that doesn't appear likely to happen.

We are having a heat wave today and for the next few days. UGH! It was about 95 in my area of Orange County, CA and 102 in some areas of L.A. WE NEED RAIN!!!

It started out hot, rainy, humid and sticky.

Afew hours later, it was 20 degrees cooler..and going down.

We need rain! It's south of us or north of us on a regular basis.

Gave up on the lawn. There's a limit to how much $$ I'm willing to throw at it.

The summer water bill is a shocker in January.
