Keurig 2 Reviews

K2 is being scorched on the Costco site. I hope Keurig addresses customer complaints as I have actually had great success so far (2+ years) with my Keurig, but I need to have the my K cup in addition to a variety of k cups.

There are a ton of flavored kcups that can be used with the new machine.

I find those reviews to be, at best, based on ignorance, short-sightedness, and dishonesty. Some are from people who have not purchased the machine, but many are from people complaining about the requirements of using the Keurig-branded cups.

Keurig has been clear, from the start, that only Keurig-branded cups. They were clear from the announcement of the machine; they are clear on the box; they are clear in the manual. To write a bad review out of "shock" and "surprise" tells me that the purchasers did no research into the issue. If they do not like the new machines, they have only themselves to blame as other options continue to be available. That would be like purchasing an automobile with a diesel engine, and then complaining that one cannot use regular gasoline in it. Silly!

I agree. It's like the people who give Kindles one star because they "thought all the (e) books would be really cheap." Just "I thought" or "I assumed" without so much as reading a description. With any electronic gadget, even one for making coffee - gadgets are not things we need, they are things we want. The value, as with the Kindle, is often in the convenience combined with other features, not simply the price. People who buy store brand coffee in 5 lb. cans and use it at half strength and readers who buy paperbacks from the used bookstore are not the target markets for either Keurig or Kindle. The target market understands that they are paying for what they have decided they want - the value to *them.*

True, but sometimes the consumer wants to be heard and maybe this is one place they can be, not saying they are right.

Well it's a good thing the reviews are anonymous, I'd be embarrassed to admit I wasn't smart enough to know what I was buying.

There are quite a few different kinds of machines, no one has to buy a keurig.

If you use the top from one of the NEW cups and place about a quarter of it onto the bottom left quadrant of the old cup with a bit of tape, it will work all the same. I imagine if you do that with the solo cups, it will work too!

Some of the youtube videos made it look like a project, but there are some that show how simple it can be. The labels are not that hard to peel off either.

Almost all of the kcups at Walmart were Keurig approved. And they have a lot of different brands. People are acting like they can only use one kind.

*ETA* I think I'd be leary of using your own coffee. I have had grounds push out the top and in the lip of my present keurig. The holes on some of those refill containers are large. Well at least while it's still under warranty.

LOL, well at least you know what you do or don't want.

So far I like this machine. The pump is louder than the Platinum I think.

I didn't actually run a cup, but I put a label on a solofil container and pulled the lid down and it showed ready to brew. I did remove the hinges as it has a gasket. I won't use the ekowbrew one as it's designed different and not sure I'll use my own or not. Not while it's under warranty for sure.

debc, I am so happy you like it! It sounds like the work around for other kcups is pretty easy.

I was so surprised at how quiet the Platinum is, especially compared to my K40 which sounds like a train.

I'm pretty sure Keurig knew all the work arounds before they ever released it. It's not a very complicated machine.

I'll try a pot tomorrow, I will use that for company as a rule, but I have to play some more and I've already drank more coffee than normal. Not sure I'd ever use the timer as they tell you to warm the pot up first so the coffee will stay hot longer. I guess you could use that with an old cup and have it hot when you wake up and then make a fresh pot.

And I like Van Houtte Creme brûlée coffee. Hopefully my pumpkin will come soon, I can't buy that here apparently.

I cut out the top and bottom of a cafe express cup and use that for water. That way I can have as much as I want. I'm not sure why it's 6 oz? Seems like 8 would be a good size, that's the coffee default size. That was the easiest work around of all.

It's not as loud as my B79, but louder than the Platinum. I'll wait awhile before actually leaving a review on feedback tho. I've done too many reviews then changed my mind and they don't let you edit.

The carafe cups might make great scoops or measuring spoons for stuff outside like mixing fertilizer or poison. I know I'm going to save them and try.

debc, thank you for the preliminary review! I'm glad you rigged a way to get more hot water. I also love the way you repurpose the cups!

I returned my Platinum to Costco for a refund. I'm going to get another one from Target. None of those reviews had the PRIME error.

That was so annoying! It was an easy fix (remove the reservoir, tap the water spout, replace the reservoir) but not for my first cup!

It's either the K75 Platinum or the K79 Platinum. I really want another one. I'm going to Target after work to get it.
