but their new commercial is sort of freaking me out....not quite sure what it is, but the voice of the man in the commercial is what I think is bothering me....... Like he is trying to get into my brain and stigmatize me or something.......

What say you?????

Yesterday on my Charter face page, there was something on their about CVS making a big announcement or change......and I don't know what it is.......

yes, that was their other big announcement.....and they removed the tobacco products earlier than expected, i believe.

The tobacco thing is not new.....in fact I believe there was a thread on here about that some time ago.

But, maybe the name is what it is......thanks loves......knew someone would know.

If they want to be known as cvs health then they should clean up their filthy stores. Here in Santa Barbara they took over all of our Long's stores. Within months the stores were disgusting. People shop there as a last resort now.

There is a brand new CVS store about a mile down the road from where I live, and I haven't been in it yet. It opened the first part of July...... The only CVS store I've been in was one down in San Antonio when I was with my sister for a few weeks. Don't remember anything about that store.....guess it didn't impress me. But, if it had been dirty I would have noticed that.

Ok, so it's not the commercial that was freaking me out, it was the voice of the man doing the commercial...... And no, I wasn't joking about "being stigmatized"....... I don't joke about things that affect me. Maybe I should have used a different word than "stigmatized", but it really bothered me.......

Maybe I'm weird.......LOL

I have not seen the commercial but I refuse to patronize this store after they pulled a major magazine because they did not think area residents should have access to them.

I think, if it's the one I've seen today, the man had throat cancer from cigarettes and has a hole in his neck, explains it AND then they go into the CVS philosophy.

They eliminated tobacco products a month earlier than announced, changed the name. They're a little late to the game and had to catch up.

They seem to make the news every couple of years for "pharmacy prescription mistakes".

CVS here is a dirty unorganized pit that I wouldn't trust to fill a script. They can do whatever they want because I haven't been in one in years!

If it's a commercial with someone with the hole in their throat and maybe speaking out of one of those synthesizer voice box things, maybe it's a commercial to try to stigmatize you to not smoke.

I haven't seen the commercial ShowMe is speaking of. But I've seen commercials where a woman looked much older than the age she said she was. She pulled a wig off her head to show a balding head. She had a synthesizer sounding voice box. It looked like she had suffered a stroke as one side of her face was sagging.

And she was pleading with you to not smoke. So she was trying to pass along to others to not go through what she was going through. She was no longer pretty. She wanted you to know that. And I do remember reading that she has since died.

I have no problem with a business that decides that tobacco products will no longer be sold. It's tobacco.

gamer......sorry you took my comment on this commercial the wrong way. I too have lost one of my parents to lung cancer......my dad lived for 10 years with only 1 lung, and lost the battle in the other lung.

If you really read my words......maybe you need to go up to post #9 and read what I said there.
