I know, maybe I should keep them and they will be worth a lot money.

I would never throw away a book but who would want them.

Why don't you google or do ask.com with ""donation sources for encyclopedias"" and see what comes up?

I know the Encyclopedia Britannica 1911 is of value because so much of history was revised afterwards....

I donated my set to the local library book store. I see sets there all the time to be sold.

My library has a sign on the door that they do not want donations of encyclopedias. I hope you find a place for them.

I just donated a bunch of things, including all types of books to the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA). They come to your door and pick up everything. I donated a set of encyclopedias to them, I'm sure they were from the 1950s. If they can use them, great. If not, they can choose what to do with them. Saves me from trying to get rid of them.

Not sure where you live but you can look up the VVA online and see if they pick up in your area.
