Remember Madame X??????

I loved that movie with Lana Turner. One of my favorites.

I noticed today on TCM (Turner Classic Movies) that it is on tonight. It is the original from 1937 with Gladys George. I am recording it to see how close it is to the later one.

That was one of the best movies ever IMO.......

For a minute I thought you were referring to the poster named Madame X who started a thread today about Helen Keaney on HSN and asked why she was relegated to the graveyard shift considering what a wonderful host she is. I figured maybe you were going to tell us it was really Helen Keaney herself! LOL!

The only person who ever should play the role is Lana Turner. I cry every time they do the court room scene and her son is with her unknown to her. No one could ever play that role like Lana Turner!!

Oh - and when she turned her head and saw the evil MIL sitting in the back row - that's when she just "knew"......

Another good one was Imitation of Life. I also saw the original with Claudette Colbert...... Mama, Mama

I bought that a few years ago on dvd. I first saw it when I was a teen and slept over at my cousins. We would all stay up late watching and I just thought of it a few years ago and bought it. Great movie!

I saw both movies and they were good. Another movie that I saw both versions was Back Street and they were both good too. Back Street starred Susan Hayward and John Gavin and he was so handsome in that movie. But they are tearjerkers.

I watched the original Madame X last night - the one with Gladys George.... I thought it was absolutely terrible. The acting was so overdone - so melo-dramatic. It didn't even bring a tear to my eyes - not even close. I love the old black and white movies but this one was the worst. I think it was made in 1937. I kind of thought it was going to be a silent movie but it was a talkie...... LOL

Don't watch it - it will just spoil the one with Lana Turner.....
