I was boiling pasta with cheese and spinach on the stove last night and it looks to be a black glass top Frigidaire Gallery stove........and it is cooked in the stove top. I can't believe it has to burn off taking 6 months to look better? Surely there is a cream or something that removes cooked on stains without scratching the glass burn top? Help please if you have one of these. There is a cleaner but it does not take off burned stains? That is crazy.

My glass top stove came with a straight edge razor to remove burned on stuff. But it will still be stained so you then have to try various chemicals til you get it clean.

I "soak" it with a very wet cloth on top to loosen.

I have a nonabrasive glass top cleaner too.

I also use my pampered chef stone cleaning tool...it is plastic and is kind of like a straight edge razor, but not a sharp.

When using something like a straight edge, you just have to make sure the pressure is even across the flat edge so as to not dig into (or scratch)

If it's your boyfriend's stove let him clean it. He must have some experience with cleaning it if he owns it.

Personally, I wouldn't be cooking for some man I barely knew. I'd expect him to be wining and dining me so early in the relationship. Baby-sitting his son and cooking now for them sounds like he has free maid service.

You deserve better.

A razor blade won't scratch it if you use it carefully.

Your BF should have common sense enough to know this. If this is his stovetop, then he also got a cleansing cream to go with it. It's not really a big deal.

Next time, remember to stir whatever you are boiling, so that it doesn't boil over and don't keep it on "high" for the entire time. When I boil pasta, as soon as it comes to a boil, I lower the setting and stir until cooked.

You can also let it cool off and put a damp cloth over it to soften it and it should come off very easily. If not, then a little scrub pad (comes with the cream) will clean it up perfectly. I think it's called "Cerama Bryte"....

Google Cerama Bryte and you'll see it comes with a "scraper" and a pad.....

Call the manufacturer, but there are good tips here, though. The manufacturer might know of a special product that works well on their particular glass top.
