Corporate called me

Hey guys - I was contacted by corporate about something i posted in the Q Did What forum. It was a post asking what it was about a review I wrote that caused it to get rejected. I give them a lot of credit for doing what they said they would do and following up with questions posed on the QTalk forums. I never expected to be called by them -- I just figured the other members would look at my review and tell me what the problem was via posts to the thread.

The other thing is that they were able to track me down even though I used a throw away email and other info when setting up this account. So QVC knows exactly who we are and tracks us by our IP address. Given all this I wonder why they allow the trolls? Anyway, the person from corporate said they use a 3rd party to moderate and handle the reviews -- Bazaarvoice.

The person from corporate couldn't have been nicer. She's going to reach out to Bazaarvoice and see what happened if my review doesn't show up in the next 24 hours.

Where do you have your packages sent? Of course they know where we are. They have our credit card information and our addresses because we buy stuff from them. Weren't you reviewing something you purchased here?

ETA: If you post from a different account than you order from then you must have given enough info in your post for them to put the two together.

I know I have given my phone number when I've left feedback. I think when I responded to that poll a few weeks ago, I left my phone number too, so I guess they have a record of it.

I have posted(or tried to) 3 different reviews. It said it might take up to 5 days...they were all positive and not one has posted. I have about given up leaving reviews.

The problem with the product or the problem with them contacting me?

I didn't have a problem with them contacting me -- I was appreciative.

The product was the microwave pressure cooker. It didn't get to pressure. When I looked at other reviews before I left mine I saw many people had the same problem I did. We ended up with undercooked rice/pasta or had to put it in for like two or three times the cooking time in Q's recipe.

I don't think (I could be wrong) they can get your phone number from your IP address.

I did NOT provide my real phone number on the registration to get this nickname. Somehow they were able to determine the info I gave on the registration was bogus AND were able to properly tie me to my QVC account. I can't figure out how they were able to do that if not via some other research on their part. I give them credit for doing it.

I agree. The rep could not have been nicer. A very positive experience and renews my faith in QVC.

It's Bazzarvoice who does all the moderation on here.

Yup. I figured if I wanted to contact QVC I would call them. I hate putting in my real phone number in these types of registration forms because I don't want any marketing calls.

I guess I do. I never copied down the customer number I was given when I registered on here. I sign-in with the email address I gave -- not my real email address either.

The bottom-line is they had to do some detective work to figure out the info I gave was bogus and then to tie this nickname to my real identity. But they were able to do it somehow. Again, I give them credit. They are much more sophisticated than I thought.
