It's a rare treat for us, not something we do more than once a year at most. As we were sitting down, we looked around and there were a lot of young kids in the audience. By young, I mean eight years and younger. The opera was in German, with subtitles on a screen over the stage. </P> <P>Most of the kids seemed to do amazingly well. One in the row behind us kept saying things a bit too loud, but on the whole it was no worse than being at the cinema. I saw a mother carrying out a child who looked to be about four, who was fussing.</P> <P>Tickets for the opera aren't cheap, that's why it's a rare treat for us. I don't think I'd want to spend that much to take young children, with the worry that they wouldn't be able to sit still and quietly for 65 + 80 minutes at a time.
