When you can't fall asleep, spend the time talking with God and in prayer
you will soon be sleeping. Lord, next to Your heart, what a safe and
restful
place to sleep.

Meditation for the day:

"Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them."
The spirit of God can come upon God's followers when they are all together
at one time, in one place, and with one accord. When two or three
consecrated souls are together at a meeting place, the spirit of God is
there to
help and guide them. Where any sincere group of people are together,
reverently seeking the help of God, God's power and God's spirit are there
to
inspire them.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be in accord with the members of my group. I pray
that I may feel the strength of a consecrated group.

Hello my friends! Hope your Sunday was blessed in every way! Mine was - and
with Lori meeting us at Mass this morning was a great blessing and her
coming over after Mass and cooking a brunch for us - another blessing.
She's getting things ready for her garage sale starting Thursday, and we
have a bunch of things here too for it. We had sunshine for the first time
all week and that really felt good! We were able to eat in the porch - it's
been too cold lately. Had a nice phone call from Cathy - we both have one
story houses I found out. It was a beautiful Mass this morning - with guitar
playing, drums and wonderful singers - great homily by Fr. Matthew on Jesus
being our shepard - and how we are to have Him lead us - there is lots of
wisdom in that young man, Fr. Matthew! We are so fortunate to have him!
The Homily of the Day says it all, too! Hope you liked it.
I'm looking forward to seeing that luxury apt. tomorrow morning - Lori's
coming with us. We are not going anywhere else, just that one tomorrow -
Linus has the day off and he plans on going to Lori's to help more with her
garage sale stuff to get ready. It'll be her first garage sale at her new
house.

Time to Plant Your Garden

Plant three rows of Peas:

Peace of mind.

Peace of heart.

Peace of soul.

Plant four rows of Squash:
Squash gossip.

Squash indifference.

Squash grumbling.

Squash selfishness.

No garden should be without Turnips:
Turnip for service when needed.

Best Time of My Life

It was June 15, and in two days I would be turning thirty. I was insecure
about entering a new decade of my life and feared that my best years were
now behind me.

My daily routine included going to the gym for a workout before going to
work. Every morning I would see my friend Nicholas at the gym. He was
seventy-nine years old and in terrific shape. As I greeted Nicholas on this
particular day, he noticed I wasn't full of my usual vitality and asked if
there was anything wrong. I told him I was feeling anxious about turning
thirty. I wondered how I would look back on my life once I reached
Nicholas's age, so I asked him, "What was the best time of your life?"

Without hesitation, Nicholas replied, "Well, Joe, this is my philosophical
answer to your philosophical question:

"When I was a child in Austria and everything was taken care of for me and I
was nurtured by my parents, that was the best time of my life."

"When I was going to school and learning the things I know today, that was
the best time of my life."

"When I got my first job and had responsibilities and got paid for my
efforts, that was the best time of my life."

"When I met my wife and fell in love, that was the best time of my life."

Nothing Compares To You

I'm sitting here filled with wonder
At the amazing things you do
How the waters stay in the oceans
And the vast beauty of the view

How the stars are hung in the sky

UNDERESTIMATING GOD ’S POWER

Jesus immediately knew in his mind what they were thinking to themselves, so
he said, “Why are you thinking such things in your hearts?” – Mark 2:8

Melissa had her heart badly broken a few years back by a cheating boyfriend.
She was partially blaming God for her misery. “How could God allow that to
happen to me?” she asked. “Why did He choose him for me, only to take him
away?” She added that she has since avoided going to church because she
feels bad towards God. With God surely knowing that, she believes He will
not welcome her.
I saw the old me in Melissa. In the past, instead of seeking God’s healing,
I drowned myself in misery and underestimated His power to forgive and to
renew me. I thought I could fix my life. It took years for me to truly
believe that only Jesus could fix me up. It was a journey worth sharing to
Melissa. She was crying when I reminded her that God didn’t want her to be
unhappy, and that He can heal her, no matter how broken she is.
Whenever you start to doubt the healing power of God’s love, imagine Jesus
asking you, “Why are you thinking such things in your hearts?”
May you never doubt His power to heal your life. Nova Arias

REFLECTION:
Are you broken? God is the greatest healer. Have you sought His help? If
not, what’s stopping you?

Forgive me, Lord Jesus, for the times I doubted Your love for me.

It would be most efficacious to recite this prayer at the beginning of each
day, preferably before our daily Rosary or before any chaplet. The name of
Mary is mentioned no less than 106 times in the Rosary and at least once in
most chaplets.
