How to Fake Out a Mosquito

Maybe this is old news, but it was new news to me. And incredibly, it worked.

If a mosquito lights on you and you want to "mush" it into the next life (who doesn't?) just hold your breath. Then slap 'em! Apparently the bug can't get away if you're holding your breath. I know how absolutely stupid this sounds, and I have no idea how it can, but someone told me to do it, and it worked!

The world is now free of three more mosquitoes! Happy Days!!

Here's another tip. If you're after a fly, never come at them from the side because that's where their eyes are. Try to get right over the top of them with whatever you're going to hit them with. They can't see you and you will get them every time.

All I have to do to get a fly to leave the room is merely pick up a fly swatter. I don't even have to get near him!!

Thanks for the tip. We had our worst early summer ever this year with those little biters. June and July were just awful. In fact we had the most quiet 4th of July evening in years. I really think it was because the mosquitos kept everyone inside. Now that it is August they are gone for the most part. It's so nice to be able to sit outside in the evenings again.
