topic North Korea? in Community Chat

Does anyone else think North Korea's been a little too quiet lately? North Korea typically behaves like an attention craving two year old who throws tantrums whenever anyone else is getting any attention. There's been a lot of stuff going on in the world lately (Japanese earthquake/nuclear reactors, Egyptian uprising, Libya war, Osama bin Laden, etc.) but not a peep out of North Korea. That's not like them. Normally there would be a missile launch, a mortar attack, a showdown over sea lanes, a nuclear test, something to refocus the world on them, but they've just been meek and quiet and out of sight. As happens with a two year old when things get a little too quiet, you wonder what they're up to. The lack of noise from them may be a sign that something's up there.

I dont really think they've suddenly grown up and matured, so why haven't we heard anything fom them? Are they still behaving like a two year old, but the press has grown weary of it and stopped reporting their tantrums? (Not likely.) Or, are they doing something and keeping a low proile hoping no one notices until it's too late? Maybe there's some internal dissent they're dealing with?

I don't know what's going on over there, but this is atypical behavior from the North Koreans and atypical behavior is usually a bad thing.
