Question about Vermont Country Store quality

VCS has 25% off of sleepwear. Some look ideal for cold winter nights. I've never purchased anything from them. Does anyone know if their sleepwear is good quality?

My mom loves house dresses (not sure that is the official name). I bought her a cute black and red checked flannel one from the VCS catalogue last fall. She has washed and worn it innumerable times. Great quality and it has held up well.

I bought some Cashmere Bouquet soap and powder from them and I was disappointed - barely any scent at all.

They carry a lot of Lanz and Eileen West and find I can get better prices elsewhere. Frequently I find these brands at TJM or Marshall's.

I have never had a problem with anything and we have ordered a lot over the years. I love their flannel gowns to put on after work on a cold snowy day! Or better yet in the morning when the offices are closed for snow!!!

I have a few of their winter nightgowns in flannel. The material is excellent quality and the nightgowns are warm and cozy and wear very well. The more you launder them the softer they become. The sizing is great too.

I am always pleased with the quality of VCS products and merchandise.

Gato, I have this summer gown by Eileen West (it is 100pct cotton, called cotton lawn.) It is heavenly ! Beauttiful little shell buttons, satin ribbon woven through lace, , pintucking. Whenever I wear it my husband says, oh this feels so good.

Hi, Gato, I've been on the Sundance site today for a sale and everything I like in my size has been sold out...frustrating.

The Vermont Country Store is _horribly_ overpriced and always has been. I say this as a person who loves country stores and loves Vermont.

The sales on sleepwear are good, but they are best (like most sites) just after the Christmas holidays--and when they have free shipping, b/c their shipping is also too expensive.

The quality is OK but the price point is ridiculous. Most items there can be found for much less elsewhere.

People _say_ this about QVC but it's seldom true in my experience--but with the Vermont Country store, some "rare" "retro" items sold are available in my supermarket a mile away for 50% less and of course no shipping.

Exactly, I have found everything I have ordered from them over the past decades well worth the prices I have paid, considering the quality of the items. I have given many gifts (especially the peppermint sticks in the jar and the English licorice mix, also the homemade fragranced soaps) and all were well received.

I've wondered about items they sell that are no longer manufactured. They sell candy, perfume, shampoo from companies that are no longer in business. Are the formulas and packaging sold to other manufacturers? I bought a perfume and a shampoo that vaguely smelled like the original.

I posted a review about it (a three star) that was not printed. I haven't ordered since.

Sooner I was eyeing their flannel gowns and I pictured myself in front of a cozy fire on a cold day sipping hot cocoa. I'm so tired of this hot, muggy weather.

minky that gown is ethereal, beautiful.

Burnsite, I mostly "window" shop at Sundance but when I get what I want and it's on sale I feel like I scored big time!

They used to carry Lanz nightgowns... nothing better for a cold winter night than a flannel Lanz...
