Just in.....Judge Stephens has given Jodie Arias permission to represent herself at her upcoming death penalty trial. Hmmm....maybe a new t-shirt design is in the works? This ought to be good. Just saying.....

I hope so for the family of Travis. This has gone on too long. No one in court will ever get a chance to talk because she loves to ramble on and hear the sound of her voice. Will she be able to contest and get another hearing if this jury gives her the death sentence or life without parole? Do you know?

Do you mean appeal? If she has a DP sentence, automatic appeals happen. If she get LWOP, appeals can be filed. Appeals filed do not mean new trials or changes, they are just appeals on issues of trial procedure.

Giving this some thought.....I read that during the first trial, at the beginning, she tried to represent herself and found she was in over her head and requested legal help. I bet she does the same thing again, causing delays or continuances (?). Hope some legal eagles jump in and give their opinions here. She will do anything to get delays and I would not put this past her. I hope the Judge sees through this. I am sure she is doing this to bolster any appeal she may need when she gets the death penalty this go round.

If we thought Judge Sherry cut her a lot of slack in the main trial, she will be bending over backwards in the next one if J.A. represents herself. It will drag on into the next century.

Is broadcasting the next trial still a no-no?

According to today's hearing, there will be NO delays. Sept 8th is it.

Broadcasting is still a no no--but remember Nurmi and Wilmont were the motion filers on that--they did not want cameras. MAYBE just maybe Jodi will file a new motion to get them back, because you know she wants them.

Good! Because being her own lawyer is not very intelligent? and means she will be found guilty. I am not going to follow this trial. I am done following trials since the Casey trial. But I will read the news online instead.
